The ring that's supposed to hold the eraser is impossible to keep tightened. Also, for the brief time the ring does hold, it doesn't seem to erase the dried watercolor.

This is one of the worst erasers on the market. Staedtler, who usually makes good products should be ashamed of this one. Terrible ergonomics, very uncomfortable to use and the plastic collar is no substitute for a quality metal compression ring. Avoid this one.

This product is junk. The plastic chuck to hold the eraser in does not work. You have to put a rubber band behind the chuck and then it does not hold well but it is usable. Barely. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Spend the extra money and get something that works.

This product, purchased at Blick's NYC store, has both design and material defects. First, the chuck does not securely hold the eraser strip in place, but vibrates loose in seconds. Twisting a rubber band behind the retaining ring is required. (Staedler's representative suggested I was applying too much pressure, but I never had this problem with my Koh-i-noor). Second, the shaft snapped off behind the chuck, rendering this poorly made machine totally useless. I'm demanding a refund.
