Welcome to dickblick
These high quality graphite pencils glide smoothly over the paper. They are highly break-resistant and easy to erase. The entire length of the graphite pencil lead is bonded to the wood to help prevent breakage, especially when sharpening.
They're available from Staedtler in finely differentiated degrees from especially soft (8B) to extra hard (6H). Soft leads are best suited to sketching and blending. Harder pencils excel for their ability to hold sharp points, and are used for straight line and detail work.
Pencils are pre-sharpened.
Contains 25 of each pencil, with a range of softer pencils for sketching and drawing, including 8B, 6B, 4B, 2B, B, and HB, Also includes a box of 25 plastic erasers and 6 pencil sharpeners with shavings cups.
Please see Item Specs tab for sets' contents.

Quality Drawing Pencils
from Portland, Ct
Comments about Staedtler Lumograph Drawing and Sketching Pencils:
I needed a new set of drawing pencils for my business. These had great reviews so I figured id give them a try. They are one of the best sets of drawing pencils, very smooth and doesnt make marks on your paper which is important when doing portraits. All shades are easy to erase and the lead doesnt break easy. Worth every penny.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Pressure Sensitive Art Pencils
Staedtler Mars Lumograph pencils are the best pressure sensitive pencils I've tested, and they make an excellent complement to less sensitive pencils, such as Faber-Castell Castell 9000 and Mitsubishi Hi-Uni pencils. Three, two, or even a single Mars Lumograph pencil can be used to cover the entire darkness range, rather than Castell 9000 or Hi-Uni pencils, which may require four of five pencils to cover the full range. There are benefits and problems with both types of pencil, but it's useful to carry both kinds in the pencil box.
My go to pencil
I am in love with these pencils. I gravitate towards them for their smoothness and I love all the ranges. The 8B is particularly impressive for its minimal amount of reflecting. I have Derwent Onyx, Caran D Ache Grafwood and Grafcubes and Faber Castell 9000 in their darkest ranges. I prefer Staedtler over all of them.

Bristol Studio Pads meet the challenge
from New Hampshire
Since I use extreme detail, photo realism, a smooth, heavy stock paper with a bit of "bite" is perfect for applying either fine pen and ink or in my case, very detailed 4B to 6B pencil media for smooth half tones and gradations.

The ONLY pencils I EVER use!!!
By Kim Ragsdale
from Medford, OR
I am a professional pencil artist, specializing in western themes. I need a pencil that will not break when sharpened. I use all the different hardnesses to layer and I only blend with the pencil, never with a stump or fingers. These pencils layer perfectly and can be used with carbon and charcoal pencils.
