These German-made pencils are world famous for their quality, lightfast pigments. Their opaque, water-soluble colors blend beautifully and erase easily. The large-diameter lead can make broad strokes or be sharpened to a fine point for details and lettering.
Draw with CarbOthello pencils as you would draw with a pastel stick. CarbOthello pencils can also be used like watercolor pencils — they respond instantly to a wet brush or pre-dampened paper. Pencils have semi-soft leads in a woodcased pencil form and are pre-sharpened.

Comments about Stabilo CarbOthello Pastel Pencil Sets:
I am really pleased with this set of pastel pencils. I have been buying this brand individually and I was always lacking a color I wanted. In addition to the pencils, the set comes with a kneeable eraser, a pencil sharpener, and a blending stylus, which was a nice surprise, as I wasn't expecting these additional items.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I usually do colored pencil drawings (faber castell), but i was interested in doing something different. i was looking up what pastel pencils to buy, and people kept saying that these were the best, and better than the really pricy ones. after using them, not only are the awesome to use, but i almost like them better than the colored pencils! my first two pieces with the pastel pencils (pictured) came out pretty darn good for having never used anything like them before. a few tips: don't use the blending stump. i find that blending colors with a lighter color works best. i also think that using smooth paper works better that "toothy" paper. my drawing below was on smooth (about 20lb) paper. i love that you can layer light colors over dark- something i miss when i use colored pencils

The darkest green for trees and grass. Pencils work great and sharpen nicely without the "lead" breaking.

Love the pencils. Have not had the chance to use them a great deal but love them when I used them. They worked wonderfully where I needed them. I would definitely use and buy them again. They are a must for me.

Love these pencils. I purchased a box of 12 because it was very economical. I use these to add lines or sketches to a acrylic painting. The lines vanish when you put a little water in your brush and wipe with a paper towel.
Excellent pastel pencils

These pastel pencils are very nice. I've used other brands that have a gritty feel when you use them -- these feel very smooth, which I prefer. They blend well with other pastels. I like the color range. I bought a selection of about 10 colors to try out, and I intend to buy the rest of the color range now that I've tried them. They are quite cheap compared to other pastel pencils of similar quality.

I bought it to write on glass.Mark the glass to be cut.I do Stained glass and it is hard to find something to write on it that is easy to erase when needed.
