These inks have excellent tack for uniform coverage and are very easy to clean up with water.

Ink Extender — Creates subtle transparent colors and maintains ink viscosity. 1.25 oz.

Ink Starter Set — The perfect set for beginners, this arrangement contains six water-soluble 37 ml (1.25 oz) tubes of Red, Blue, Yellow, Black, White, and Gold ink. Ink dries to a rich, satiny finish and cleans up easily with water.

Retarder — Slows drying time for water-soluble inks during printing. 1.25 oz.

Note — Use this color chart as an approximation of the real color. If exact color matching is necessary, use actual samples of the materials.

I tried to create some Christmas cards with this ink, on super-absorbent 100lb cardstock, in a very dry climate and the ink never completely dried. First I waited days with no luck, then I tried using a spray fix after waiting for 6 hours and then waited two hours before I tested the cards--still not dry. Give me a break. What is the point of this ink if it rubs off on everything and you can't send a print through the mail without worrying about ink coming off on someone's hands? Awful product.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I use Speedball for at-home relief printmaking and to pull proofs. I like it because it's economical, especially in the big jar size. It also dries really fast which is a big plus. Also, water based inks are important for me: easy to clean up and non-toxic as opposed to oil-based. The consistency is good; don't need to add cal-mag to it to thicken. Super easy to just get going on a project at home with this ink. If you want to hand-paint (say, with watercolor) after you print, just know that this ink will mix...it won't stay put. For the kind of ink it is, it's a solid value and fun to play with.
