For what I do (basic relief printing - lino, wood, mono) The Speed ball Brayer is the best deal and works great.
Con: Well I work the hell out of my brayers so the edges wear a little... but this may be normal. Prefer the soft brayer to the hard so it might just be a normal issu.

This product was ordered in a class kit for relief printing; almost every brayer included (about 7) had a recessed spot in the center, leaving blank/light spots and uneven coverage when inking plates. Very disappointing, it makes inking twice as difficult and inconsistent.

Using these rollers for wet on wet acrylic painting can be better on large surfaces than a brush. They have a smooth action and clean up easily. Just bought a new set of these in the sizes I use because after 14 years I wore out my old set.

For some reason, this Speedball 4-inch brayer is made of rubber or a substitute that smells horrible. I can't leave it in the house. It is currently languishing in my garage until the awful smell goes away (if it does). I've bought other Speedball brayers and none were made of this awful-smelling substance. Not bothering to return it because I can't control whether the replacement would be the same. From now on, I'll buy brayers in person.
