Comments about Speedball Printmaster Paper Pads for Block Printing:
This paper works very well with my AKUA Pin Press. I use it for intaglio drypoint printing. I have tried many different papers and this one gives me the best results.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Definitely not the best choice for those who want high quality, lasting results. This paper is very reasonably priced and good for practice, but you get what you pay for

Poor choice for block printing
By dancing goose studio
Bought this paper because it was recommended for block printing. I found it to be a very poor paper for hand printing of wood blocks. The individual relief shapes print with a very noticeable border and large areas do not print evenly. It does not matter how long you let damp paper sit, the prints are not acceptable and get worse the longer you let the paper sit. I will not be buying any recommended papers for Dick Blick again.

Not quite as good as typing paper
from Los Angeles, CA
I bought this paper at a local Brick 'n' Mortar Blick's because they had no other packaged paper intended for linoleum block printing. Speedball intends this paper to be an economical option suited for classroom instruction. It is a smooth paper without the interesting texture or limpness of a typical rice or kozo paper. On a one or two impression project it would probably do reasonably well, but its lack of dimensional stability, its tendency to warp in the printed area, combined with its relative stiffness, make multi-color reduction prints somewhat problematic. In fact I pulled my test prints on ordinary office supply store brand inkjet paper which stayed much flatter and took the ink just as well, perhaps better.
