Spectrum Noir is a high-quality alcohol-based ink marker that offers professional performance at an affordable price.
The double-ended pens have a broad chisel nib for filling in large areas, and a fine bullet tip for detailed work. Designed specifically for crafters, Spectrum Noir Markers are also great for beginners, students, and hobby artists.
Fast-drying, acid-free, and non-toxic, the marker ink blends seamlessly and the colors can be mixed or layered over one another. Each pen has a colored end that allows for easy identification.
Spectrum Noir Markers come in convenient sets that contain several shades within the same color family. The lower the number designations (1, 2, or 3, for example), the lighter the shade will be. The higher the number, the darker the shade will be.

Pictures Following Up My Review

I just wrote a review, and now I'm attaching a few pictures of pages from coloring books I recently completed. I'm also using the Spectrum Noirs on a multimedia project at the moment, and they are working wonders!

Excellent markers; excellent value!
I already purchased the full set of Blick Studio Brush Markers, which I ABSOLUTELY LOVE!!! But, I can never have too many markers. So, I purchased the entire set of the Spectrum Noirs. The price on Blick's website was nearly half of that found anywhere else, plus Blick's wonderful sales, and free shipping brought the price down to about a third of what other retailers change! Not only am I thrilled with the price I paid, I absolutely love the Spectrum Noir markers! The enormous array of colors are beautiful, and vibrant, as well as plenty of soft pastels. The variety of greyscale tones meet every possible need. The color coding is very convenient, and Spectrum Noir's website offers a very nice color chart, as well as a few other hardy tools, and tutorials. The blender is great. The nibs are perfect. The inks are fantastic. The markers, themselves, are comfortable (although I do prefer Blick's actual markers). Replacement brush nibs are available, and are my preference, which I did purchase Blick's Studio Brush markers, but I actually do like the fine nib on the Spectrum markers. So, I don't think I will replace the nib. Furthermore, using the Spectrums with the Bicks is great! Both brands work beautifully together! The inks blend fantastically together, having no issues streaking between the two, and they preform as if if I was working with the same brand. Also, they have practically NO bleeding, considering you use proper paper. Admittedly, I did buy the Spectrum Noir's because I wanted to add to my colors is Blicks, and I am very pleased with BOTH of my purchases! And, now, I want to add to more colors to my collection! Haha! I would definitely recommend these markers! You will not be disappointed! And, thank you, Blick, for such wonderful prices!
No they're not Copics, but yes an affordable alternative

I now have the full set of Spectrum Noir markers and am quite pleased with how they are performing for me so far. Like any new art medium, they take a bit of practice. Having started working with Copic alcohol markers, I was a bit spoiled by the blending capabilities of that product (though not the price!). The SR are not as good as the Copics for blending (but then I'm still learning and do find them better at this as I continue to practice). If you must have a brush (rather than a nib) tip, you can order those separately. There is a good selection of colours in the basic colour sets, but you really need to purchase some of the 24 sets (pastels, brights, lights) in order to have a smoother range of colours to blend with. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this product and looking forward to many years of enjoyment using them to add colour to some of my inked artwork
I would buy this again

I ordered these a few weeks ago, and i was messing around with them in a drawing and i have to say these are amazing i accually wanted copic but since i have a part time job and god only knows when the shortage is over but now i got a new favorite marker these little guys and i have to say there about the same as copic
These are terrible markers. Many of the caps are defective where the entire brush head comes off with the cap. You have to pull them apart with pliers or wedge your nail between the two pieces and hope you can get them separated. Also, the blending options are limited in that you can only blend brights with brights and darks with darks, etc. Save your money and buy Copic markers.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Good Buy on Markers

Great gel pens. I'm using to embellish embroidery designs. The colors are fantastic! Price beats discount sewing chain.
I would buy again
I use these to color. And I have to say, I like them just as much as the copic markers and these are cheaper!

I'm liking my Spectrum Noir Markers
Good price and is a nice set of alcohol markers to begin with.
from McLouth, KS.
I was looking at Copic markers, but just couldn't justify the price. These markers are very close to Copics and much less expensive. I have used both, but it is hard to tell the difference. These are an affordable solution and very high quality. The color range is magnificent. Blending is fantastic.
