Welcome to dickblick
Silverwhite soft white synthetic brushes are manufactured using specially selected filaments of varying length and thickness that are blended together. This blend creates a special brush that will hold sharp edges in flats and fine needle points in rounds.
You get the spring and color-carrying capacity of the finest natural hair brush at a fraction of the price.
Seamless nickel ferrules are fitted onto long, polished white-tipped silver handles.
These brushes are suitable for use with acrylics, watercolor, gouache, water mixable oils, and all water-based media.
Bright and Flat — A Bright is a short flat brush that absorbs less color and has a stiffer stroke. A Flat is longer than a Bright and is consequently more flexible at the tip.
Brush sizes — The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size may vary by manufacturer as brush sizes are not standardized. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from within a single brush line.
Long and Short Handles — Long handles are recommended for easel style painting, while short handles are recommended for table-top painting where the artwork lies flat, especially with water media.

A big improvement

Comments about Silver Brush Silverwhite Synthetic Bright:
Returning to painting after many decades away from it, I found these brushes to be a big improvement over anything I could buy in our local hobby store. They hold water liquid much better, and they're much better at applying a smooth layer of color. They arrived in a timely way and were appropriately packaged. My one regret - and this is my own error - is that the bristles of the "bright" brushes are shorter than I thought they'd be. I'm going to order at least one "flat" brush, which will have longer bristles. I love the fact that I can track shipments from this site.
I love these brushes. I use them for acrylics. They keep their shape and the nickle handles are wonderful. No more soggy wood or paint chipping off.

When you are used to painting with lower quality brushes and making it work, its amazing how much easier painting can be with a higher quality brush.

There is a size difference between long and short handles
These are great brushes. Soft enough to blend, but firm enough to apple with as wellImportant note, There is a brush size difference between the long and short handles. A size 0 long handle, is about the same as a size 4 short handle. Keep this in mind when ordering!
Reliable and Affordable

I paint really small things so size and quality of brushes are very important. I also don't always take the best care of my brushes so being able to replace them without breaking the bank helps to!

FIRST CHOICE ALWAYS!!!

I am a professional portrait artist. I'm also an old dawg who has been through LITERALLY hundreds of brushes in my life. Here's my best advice on brushes. Use the cheapest imported bristle junk you can find to tone your canvas and do your massing in and your underpainting. THEN switch to your precious Silverwhites to refine, glaze and finish. Silverwhites perform like fine sable. They are a JOY! They do age fairly quickly even when treated well and cleaned carefully. But if you reserve them for the later stages of your painting they will reward you with the pleasure of their lovely performance. All arts and crafts depend on quality tools.
