The Silver Brush Grand Prix Super Brush was made exclusively for Silver Brush by master brush makers. It contains 100% naturally curved Chungking white bristle with flagged and interlocked tips for maximum color carrying capability. It is for use with all techniques.
Bristles and handles are double sealed in seamless, corrosion-resistant copper ferrules and double crimped to long, green lacquered handles.
Extra Long Filbert
This brush is especially prized by portrait and figure painters for its sharp chisel edges. It offers fine control for detailed and broad strokes. It also holds more paint, so there is less reloading of color.

Comments about Silver Brush Grand Prix Super Bright:
Silver Grand Prix brushes are the best purely bristle brushes I have used for oil painting. Most of mine have lasted 20 years with good care. They hold their shape well.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Superior Brushes - For me and my money
By Tidelands Painter

Artist brushes are a very personal opinion type item, so I can only say that the Silver Grand Prix Brushes are wonderful for me. I have tried many other top of the line brushes and all are good, but Silver are always best for me.George
Disappointed, after 1st use, the bristles splayed.

Comments about Silver Brush Grand Prix Super Flat Series 1001:
I thought this brush would have a crisper edge on the bristles. It doesn't and is "mop like." That said, it is well constructed and will be good for applying tints prior to painting, especially on large surfaces.

Universal brushes for other paints and media. Love the guarantee for life.
Hair loss problem
from Santa Barbara CA
The brush fibers end up on the canvas. That's not a good thing.
Merchant response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Although it's not uncommon for a new brush to shed a few hairs initially, this should not be excessive or prolonged. If you feel the brush is not performing as it should, please give us a call at 1-800-723-2787. Our Customer Care Agents will be happy to work with you!

Comments about Silver Brush Grand Prix Super Round Series 1000:
Holds its pointed shape very well over time. Hairs don't flare out as much as some brands.

good.. but not super

I have had many Silver brushes in my career .. and just recently I just purchased 11 more.. a mix of flats and filberts. My older ones are better. This batch had several below par brushes.. especially the small filberts. Silver brush is supposed to be very good.. and they are compared to others at this price.. but the filberts are poorly constructed.. used once and they splayed and would not hold their shape. So the search for a great working brush continues.
I love silverbrush brushes. I use them myself, and they are on my list of supplies for my students, they are beautiful brushes for accomplished artists as well as students. I don't like to teach with a lesser brush, crummy or cheap brushes can ruin a painting and at the very least make it much more difficult to achieve the desired effect. They clean up nicely, hold their shape, and last quite a long time. All of these are what I look for when buying brushes for oil painting.
