The Silver Brush Grand Prix Super Brush was made exclusively for Silver Brush by master brush makers. It contains 100% naturally curved Chungking white bristle with flagged and interlocked tips for maximum color carrying capability. It is for use with all techniques.

Bristles and handles are double sealed in seamless, corrosion-resistant copper ferrules and double crimped to long, green lacquered handles.

Note — Brush sizes are not standardized. The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size varies considerably by manufacturer. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from a given manufacturer.

If Robert Simmons' white bristle brushes didn't work for you, Silver Brush Grand Prix is the ultimate white bristle brush. The white bristles are more stiff, keep their points, edges, stay together longer than other same type brushes. I've never had a problem of hairs falling out of these brushes. Handle these brushes with respect, don't abuse them by leaving to stand in turpentine or oil, rinse them in turpentine, lay horizontal to rest, you won't loose the points, clean brushes carefully, & allow them to dry in horizontal position. Allowing turpentine, oils to absorb down into the ferrule of the brush may cause bristle hairs to fall out. These brushes are more expensive but worth it as the brushes give the best & finest results with oils.

I heard that this is the best brush in the category. I am not sure, but it is not like that... I was happy to get it and try it... It is not possible to buy it in Europe or I do not know where. After first use this brush change form a little and I was disappointed; I do not expect something like that after first use.

I was surprised to see some of the bristles pull away after two uses and two cleanings. Of course, I can still use them, but I got them for finer detail and I didn't expect them to have hairs spring away from the brush.

More specifically, the brushes were Silver #1 1003 Filbert and #2 Silver 1027 Extra Long Filbert and #3 Silver 1027 Extra Long Filbert

I am a professional portrait painter. I use a lot of art materials and products. I have used several brands of brushes. However, I prefer Silver Gran Prix and I consider this line of brushes among the best for portrait painting. I rely on the Silver GP, especially the rounds and the filberts. Thank you for this very professional product. Portraits range from 11x14 inches to six feet.
