Comments about Silver Brush Black Velvet Brushes:
I love using these brushes as they contain real squirrel and they are very versatile, holding a lot or very little watercolor. I have taught watercolor classes for many years at the college level and I always recommend these wonderful brushes!

Next best brush to a Sable.
Shakes to a point. Firm spring, yet has Mop characteristics! Better than any Synthetics. Great blend. Good variety in the line.
Didn't know what I was missing!

Comments about Silver Brush Black Velvet Script:
I was blown away by how fine this script brush made the lines. I had used another liner brush previously and thought it was fine until I used this one and realized what I had been missing. It held A lot of paint and made a very beautiful delicate fine hair like line when I wanted it to.

Great brush for the money
Comments about Silver Brush Black Velvet Round:
I use this brush in my watercolor class. I like this brush better than any synthetic watercolor brush.I do not want to use my expensive sable brushes yet as I am a beginner. This brush is inexpensive and is almost as good as my expensive sable brushes.
Favorite Watercolor Brushes

I use these brushes exclusively for all of my studio and plein air watercolor painting. After using Princeton brushes for several years, I tried one of the small flat brushes which I found myself using frequently. I continued to buy more of these brushes and kept running into plein air painters who enthusiastically recommended them. When first using the round brushes I immediately noticed a difference in the amount of paint they hold and the quality of the tips. These brushes are soft, so don't have the spring of my previous brushes, but I have become use to the softness and have found it to be an advantage. The brushes are gentle on the paper and great for glazing over a color you don't want to disturb. These brushes last. I have not yet needed to replace any of them after several years of use.

These are so great to use on card with the Jewish distress inks. They make it so easy to blend the colors. I have a 2,4,6,8.

Worth the Price

I teach card making at several local craft stores and always reserve this brush for myself when I'm doing a demo thereby opening an opportunity to talk about the difference in brush quality using watercolors. These brushes are fantastic.
Listen to the experts

I should have believed her.The instructor created the materials list for her class. The list has changed in a few ways, but the most important way was that it now strongly recommended a particular brand of watercolor brushes for the intermediate-advanced watercolor class.! The brand of course was Silver Black Velvet. I used them last session and liked them so much I ordered more and more for a friend too! They tend to hold water and apply the color gradually and exactly where I want it. Thank you. Absolutely no gift or otherwise compensation was promised.
Excellent brushes - hold lots of paint!
from San Antonio, TX
I LOVE these brushes. I have the rounds in several sizes, but I find I use the 8 the most. A nice middle ground. It holds lots of water and does a good job of not dumping all the pigment at the beginning. These come to a very nice point and can do very fine lines so they are quite versatile!
