Be kind to your fine art brushes!
Stroking a brush across the smooth surface of the aluminum coil opens and separates the hairs for proper cleaning without damaging the fragile flags (the delicate split ends of brush hairs).
This heavy glass tank with a screw-on lid holds up to 12 oz (355 ml) of water, solvent or Silicoil Brush Cleaning Fluid.

Wouldn't be without it.
from Charlotte NC
This purchase replaces an old one I'd had for years that was broken in moving. My only wish is that the jar could be an inch or two taller.
Got exactly what I ordered!
from Newport News, VA
I ordered two for use with oils, one for clean terpenoid and one for heavily used terpenoid. They work really well, although for long brushes they do end up sticking out a lot because the jars are rather short. A pickle jar with a lid would do a nice job but the coil inside is nice for really cleaning the brushes thoroughly. They both arrived really well packaged and unharmed.

Show your brushes some love!
By Artist Lydia Makepeace

I use this brush tank to gently and thoroughly clean my oil paint brushes. As a previous reviewer mentioned, I do wish it came in smaller sizes as I use walnut oil (which is quite costly in large quantities) in place of solvents.
Great for acrylics and oil paint

I have two of them and use them for water based paints and oil paints.

Great design, but ... the lid leaks!
I bought three of these before I discovered that I couldn't carry them on field trips, because the lids leak.I love the spiral wire system for cleaning brushes. Seems to clean effectively without undue damage to the bristles.I use three, with the lids marked #1, #2, #3. Brush starts in #1, progressing to the next two, with paper towel clean-offs in between. When #1 solvent is too contaminated for further use, I dump it. #2 becomes #1, #3 becomes #2, and the former #1 becomes #3 with new solvent. But ... solvent is volatile. The lids ought to be firmly, unfailingly, leak-proof. They're not.I can't find a gasket that might fit. I challenge the manufacturer to send every purchaser like myself a leak-proof gasket for each jar owned. Then I'll upgrade the rating. For now, I recommend but with RESERVATIONS as noted.

Brush Cleaning at its Best
By One Great Artist
from Youngsville, NC
I bought three of these. I use two for cleaning my oil painting brushes. One for initial removal and the second for additional cleaning. The smooth thick coils are gentle on my brushes, both natural hair and synthetic.
