The Signature Keyless Frame allows artists to keep their linen canvases drum tight regardless of the humidity level and without loosening the squareness of the frame. With a single turn of a screw with a household screwdriver, wrinkles, puckers, and waves can be eliminated at any time during the life of a painting. Eliminate cumbersome keys that are difficult to use, and begin painting on Claessens linen on Signature Keyless Frames. The canvas will expand with precision and ease — and you'll once again experience the joy of painting on linen. The stretched canvases are shipped assembled. Claessens oil primed linen canvas is sized with synthetic glue to protect the fabric from acidic oils, and to lend rigidity to the canvas for ease of stretching. Next, it is primed with Zinc White pigment bound with linseed oil and placed into a drying room for three days to air-dry naturally. Then the canvas is sanded and a coating layer of Titanium White is applied. Finally, the canvas is placed into a drying room for an additional 10 days until it is completely dry. |
