Easy to remove and apply!

Comments about Shiva Liquid Masque:
I have used many mask materials for my high school classes. Some are difficult to remove, some stain the paper, some dry out over a summer...but this mask is amazing! Removes easily, without damage to paper, picks up even under layers of paint, doesn't stain and lasts-without drying out over extended periods of time! Will only by this for my high school classes in the future!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I switched to this brand after using another brand after 24 years they changed the ingredients and is now inferior so this one works great and I use it during my classes and on my own work.
Difficult to use and to clean brushes
By Artgirl 19
from Gallup NM
I found this Richeson Shiva Liquid Mask difficult to use. It is verythick out of the jar, does not brush on with any ease, and the brushes are still clogged with latex making the unusable even when they were immediately cleaned. The price for the amount is good, but i do not look forward to using the product a second time.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Excellent masking fluid
Excellent masking fluid. I've used it on Arches watercolor block and it doesn't stain or pull up the paper. Having said that I have only left it on the paper for about four or five days and I haven't tested how it reacts when left on for a longer period of time, but for the period of time I have used it it performs well. It is also capable of creating fine lines.

New to liquid masks...
By Kim B

I purchased this to try out liquid masking for the first time. I had researched some brands and techniques and chose this for it's described easy removability and price. As suggested in my research, I tested it on some scrap pieces of watercolor paper. I found it easy to remove after drying but noticed that, once removed, it left my paper tinted a feignt yellow. I tested it on two brands of paper and saw the same thing. I did some inquiring about some other brands and this brand and got varying responses that this brand will tint if left on the paper for a length of time. But I observed the tinting only after about an hour from application. I inquired after another brand and no evidence if tinting the paper was mentioned. So I will test that and see. But otherwise, I found the price agreeable and the ease of use of the product to be as expected and described in the other reviews. It didn't rip my paper, only tinted it.
Shiva Liquid Masque
I've used various other masques. The one I loved changed something in their formula and I don't like how it removes from the paper. At a recent workshop, another student was using Shiva Masque and let me use some of hers. I liked the way it handled and its easy removal from my paper. I decided to order Shiva for my next workshop and try it again. It easily pulled off the paper and didn't leave a mess that needed cleaned up before I could continue painting.
This is the best masque I have found.

Shiva liquid Masque is by far the best masque I have used. It flows on beautifully, and the best part is how easy it comes off, even after sitting for several days.
Love this Masque!

Easy to apply. A small resevoir over the top of jar (under the lid) holds just the amount of masque you need while preserving the interior from air contamination. Pink color is easy to see on the paper. Removes easily from watercolor paper without damage. Application brush cleans up with soap and water. Can't say enough about how nice this is to use.
