Best for Oil Pastels
from Tucson AZ
Comments about Sennelier Oil Pastel Card Pads:
Oil pastels are a unique medium. If you want to preserve your work in OP, you will need a ground that doesn't react. You can prepare your own ground, but it you just want to paint, this is what you need.

Perfect for pastel storage
from Montville, NJ
These pads are the ideal thing for pastel paintings storage. The size accommodates most of which I paint and with the built in glassine sheet they are kept well. I particularly like the spiral binding as it makes it easer to shoe the paintings, for critique, in class and the spiral binding is so much more durable than the tape bound books. I can keep multiples of these pads, on their edge, for longer term storage. Love them!

Thank you Dick Blick carrying this product. ESPECIALLY the 6 1/2 x 9/12 size that I am unable to find elsewhere. I journal in these everyday. They take every medium.

Sennelier Oil Pastel Card Pads
By Oscar RCMP/breadandbutter33.com
from Rushville Ohio
The size of the sheets and the weight is appropriate, the glassine pages between each drawing is a very nice addition as well. I would have preferred to have the edges perferated or glued as opposed to the spiral bound pages. A variety of tones would also add to the appeal of the tablet. The quality of the product is excellent, and I can see a number of variations on this idea being very attractive for me as an oil pastel artist in the field, such as a foldover flap to protect the works inside the tablet from weather. Very nice.

very nice paper
from madison wisconsin
I don't know how it compares to others.I like it though it's expensive. I'm saving it for when I'm going to do a serious drawing, otherwise I'll use the Pentalic nature sketch pad.I bought it for oil pastels but colored pencils glide on it.
I loved it
from Van Nuys
I am new to oil pastels so I don't have much to compare with, but I always try to start with the best. This paper is also great for prisma color pencils.

I have used this with oil pastel, soft pastel, acrylic paint and even the Liquitex Paint Markers and had good results. I love the protective sheets in-between to protect artwork. I even bought the Stillman 180lb paper and this was better.

The best of the best
from Bogotá, Colombia
I used once or twice with oil pastel (sennelier also), and worked very well, but now I am using it to work with artist pens and let me tell you, its fantastic, the pen can be used very softly and the paper lets you do good traces withouth any problem. You could also use for watercolor because the paper is really thick and its very smooth to touch. And the price is extremely good. I have bought also Fabriano paper (which is very good also), and this has nothing to be consider less, its very very good

Very strong and excellent with color
from Bogota, Colombia, America
I have used it not only with oil pastel, but also with indian inks and let me tell you that the colors i have get with this paper i cannot get them with any other. I have used Fabriano Artistico traditional white watercolor (also a 5 starts let me tell you but a little bit different, excellent colors too), but with this paper i have got extremely good results. You can used both sides with no worries, and I´m sure that must be good for watercolor too, but i cannot assure it totally.
