One of the most enjoyable soft stones to work with, this stone comes from the Midwest region of the USA. Light green in color, it contains some striations and layering that don’t diminish its appeal. Since soapstone is so easy to carve and finishes to a high gloss with minimum effort, it’s great for beginners.

Soapstone contains no asbestos. It is available in randomly sized pieces, so listed sizes and weights are approximate.

Soapstone Classpack, 4 Pieces — This classpack contains four 4 lb pieces of stone, each measuring approximately 5" × 4" × 3".

Soapstone Classpack, 5 Pieces — This classpack contains five 2 lb pieces of stone, each measuring approximately 4" × 4" × 2".

the peice os soapstone that I recived was very nicely colored and arived with 2 long sides cut @ right angle w/ a square cut end also wich made it very easy to proces further for use on the lathe. Made a great finised handle on the corkscrew I was making as a gift. It was recived with great pleashure. Made me look good and feel good. The stone had no hiden cracks or flaw, was packed with great care and shiped without any breakage or damage to other items in order I will be ordering more in the futchure the serves was great thanks to you guys

wonderful color and texture, I used this to turn some pen blanks on a lathe and they are fantastic, a little soft and crumbly for some of the finer detail but overal good
