This product is oil based which I discovered I do not like.
from Hartland, WI
I use this product to make a model for a sculpture I will carve. The product is too soft and sticky for my tastes. It works but is doesn't take details well because the product sticks to the tools when being applied to the model. It is also a bit difficult to clean from your hands or clothes. It is possible that if I used a harder modelling clay that my experience would have been more positive...
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The clay reminded me of my wonderful times in my art schooling at art institute. And it was packaged well. Well, time for sculpting.

I enjoy working with this clay.
I am using this clay to make models and patterns for wood carving. It is a very good clay the only negative thing about it is the smell. After a few days I didn't notice it as much.

i needed a clay to mold and my hands are not very strong so I and this product - not a good match. I had to leave it in the sun for 30-60 minutes in order to make it manageable and even then it was not easy. going to have to find a softer material
Merchant response: Thank you for your review! You may prefer the soft version of this clay to the medium you ordered. Our Customer Care Center will be happy to work with you to make an exchange. Or, if you'd like assistance finding an alternative, please feel welcome to contact our Product Information Department at 1-800-933-2542 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We're happy to help!
Beware - this product does not work for silicone molds.
from New York, NY
I used this product to make a model which was to be used to make a silicone mold. I painted on the silicone, and the silicone failed to cure. It turns out the sulphur in this Plastilina inhibits silicone (and other materials) from curing.
Merchant response: We offer Sculpture House Prima Plastilina Clay which is a sulphur-free clay suitable for use with silicone molds. If you would like additional information about this or any of the clays we offer, please feel welcome to contact our Product Experts at 1.800.933.2542, or email us at email@example.com.
Just what I was looking for!
from Easthampton, MA
I was looking for a clay that would be easy to sculpt to make a maquette for a bronze sculpture. I needed something that would be soft enough to carve and sharp enough to retain the details in the bull's head that I am creating. This clay is smooth and has excellent workability and does not dry out. Exactly what I was looking for. The green color is easier to see the carved lines than their white clay which is also an option, but that is my preference. Thank you for offering such a great product.
Note: I hope you can edit a prior submission .. As I accidentally submitted my comments for the Clay on what should have been for the kneadable eraser. As to the Plastilina clay .. .. I use the hardest because it enables me to sculpt the finest details .. .. It is however, the hardest to work with .. We have found it helpful to warm the clay prior to use by letting it set for awhile under a work light .. .. After which the warmth of your fingers will keep it pliable. Those with less strength should consider using the medium or even the soft versions.

I bought this for molding and casting. I wanted a reusable clay that was easy to clean off masters with water. This does very well for that. I'd hoped it would be softer, though. It takes a bit to work this, but thankfully I am casting miniatures so I can work with small pieces. I'd buy it again.
