The Sculpture House Professional Stone Tool Set, is advertised as high quality tools made of finest steel, forged and tempered for marble, limestone and sandstone. I excitely purchased this item only to find that I feel mislead, i.e. it doesn't say, "the highest quality" or "the finest steel" a big difference. One point chisel failed on its first attempt as it melted to the side of the tip after a few taps on soft stone. Compared to my "real" professional tools, this set seems to have a "cheap light feel" reducing my trust in the dependability and durability of this product. I do not want ruin an expensive piece of stone if my tool fails to live up to (my) expectations. I was sold on this product on its advertising and bargain. I thought for the price asked they must be great. So I feel mislead. This kit in my opinion, is on the very low end of professional and I feel foolish for not understanding the quality I was buying. A bargain but a trade off. I don't recommend the kit, especially to the beginner whose work might fail not because they are new at it but perhaps one of the tools failed as mine did. Better advertising reflecting the fact that this bargain kit is not "the finest, the best" tools you can find. I don't recommend anyone buying the kit, especially not beginners. I have professional tools and this kit doesn't stand up to its advertising. I have worked in stone carving and should have known better. Too good to be true.

So far I have been extremely pleased with this tool set! I've been working with alabaster and the chisels and rasp are all doing a great job! One of the chisels had a tooth break, but I think that is only because I was trying to use the tool in a way it wasn't meant to be used. This is my first stone project and I am still learning. But great deal! $60 less than other websites I've seen.

The quality of the tools appears to be good and so far they seem to hold an edge well. My two complaints were that the advertised set I bought included a riffler and the set you sent did not. Second, the hammer that came with the set was loose in the handle. I had to add another wedge to secure it.

Normally DB prices are on the high side. Not so for this set. After looking at dozens of dealers this was by far the best deal.

Anyone who carves stone, marble or softer, will need these tools. Two sizes of hexagonal shanks feel perfect in your hands. Easy to rotate and they keep a sharp edge for a long time before you need to re-sharpen. These are precision tools that require tempering for strength. If you have pneumatic hammers, the hex shanks can be ground round to your size & away you go. The points, toothed and flat chisels are cut & shaped after quenching for the best edges. The rondel is small but makes life easy getting into hard spots without snapping a corner off of a flat chisel (not a smart thing to do).

A terrific all around set that every stone sculptor must have in their most basic inventory.
