Prima Plastilina, like Roma Plastilina, is a premium-grade, smooth-working, oil-based modeling clay that never hardens or changes with air exposure. However, Prima Plastilina is sulphur-free and all-natural, with a neutral, non-offensive odor.
Package contains 2 lbs (.91 kg) of tan colored clay. Number 2 medium consistency only.

Good for quick sculpture but soft compared to the Roma plastina

This product never became dry. A little hard to use at first. Kind of firm. But once you played with it for a little bit it was fine.

I'm using this clay to make a sculpture that will be used for a mold. So far it is standing up great. It smooths wonderfully and looks fantastic. It is a bit on the hard side but a little warm air makes it just perfect.

Prima Plastilina is really hard to find. The local Blick doesn't carry it, and it has to be special ordered. It doesn't stink, which is a big problem for my with other oil-based clays, I really hate the way most of them smell. This clay is easy to work. I keep an old slow cooker in the studio to warm the clay, but on warm days it's not necessary, simply manipulating the clay in my hands is enough to get it pliable. I really prefer to work in water based clay, however, the drying/cracking problems make plastilina a better choice for works that I want to cast. My only complaint is that I wish it came in a dark brown or bronze color.
Sculpture Clay - could be available soft
I use Plastalina primarily because it doesn't harden and I can literally work on the piece for years. Sculpting in mud isn't my favorite way to work. I wish a slightly softer version was readily available.
very happy with this product!

Just what I wanted

I'm a novice with paper mache, and this is what I will be using sometimes for forms. Works like a charm. Couldn't be happier.

This product stays in your hands after handling. It gets all over the working table even whit simple handling. Children who are extra sensitive are truly unconfortable by the feeling after working with it and does not clean up easily with regular soap.
Merchant response: Thank you for your feedback. As this is an oil-based clay, you will find a water-resistant residue is left behind on hands and work surfaces. This professional clay is not ideal for use by children. Our Product Experts would be happy to help you select a more suitable alternative. Please feel welcome to contact us at (800)933-2542. We are available M-F from 8:00am to 5:30pmCST.
