I am totally excited with the scratch art noards. I ordered some from somewhere several years ago and recently gave a class to seniors at my centet. Everyone is so excited to do another. I used my supplies and my time and it was fun and educational.

The boards are great, being a old geezer, I have to compare them to the older thicker boards from ESSDEE boards of yore. They are thinner but so what ?, if you don't dig in like a nut, they work fine. Makes you think for a while, LOL. Just keep your light touch and you'll be fine. What I like also is that you can mount them easy, on any stock of board you have and they are good to go. I also mount them on my bad drawings and they hide my mistakes, like any good photographer does.I like other buys from blick, scratch knives, inks, and whatever. Being 88 yrs old, belive me, I've been around and know good stuff, so you younger kids, do the smart thing and " be quick with Blick " ! regards Geno Loro Sr.

I have tried a variety of scratchboard brands over the years in my high school art room. I ordered this because it was a great price. After using it I fell in love with the quality of line work and texture that can be achieved without having large chunks of the scratchboard chip off. I even started several pieces of my own artwork to submit to a local gallery because of the ease. The white reveal can sometimes look a bit metallic or silvery in certain light but achieving a greater value range with fine lines is much easier with this brand. I did a second order this year so that I can stock up... Just in case the formula changes. My students also were able to use steel wool on this without compromising the integrity of the white surface below. I really love it. Perhaps it is more suitable for a more mature user vs a younger student. I can see where that age group would have trouble with it.
Low cost and easy to use

This scratch board product has a nice weight and is easy for beginning students to use. The surface material does not flake and works well with scratch board drawing tools. The low cost makes it affordable.
Great product and service!

I am using it to produce art to try to get into the business of selling it. It's been a goal of mine for quite some time. The pricing made it reasonable to get started and I really Appriciate your bulk discounts. Thanks guys (: you've already gotten a few recommendations from me to others that are looking for the same or similar products! I also really Appriciated the fast shipping. Keep up the good work! You'll get my business if I need anything else!

I had planned to use this with my elementary school classes. I found that even with a scratch stick it was difficult to remove the paint. It was a good weight and size but I thought it would be very difficult for my students to work with. If anyone has any suggestions I would welcome them.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Used scratch board in the past at school. Theirs was much better quality and not shiny
