Most vibrant colors!!
Comments about Sargent Premium Watercolor Pan Sets:
I have used these watercolors already with my senior art group and I had gotten many compliments on how vibrant the colors are :) I also love that you can buy the refills when they start to run down.

Not happy with Sargent
By Art Teacher Amy
from Amityville, NY
I recently purchased the Sargent watercolors and was not happy with the "art time" watercolor 8 pan set. I have taught art to K-5th grades for 10 years. I have tried 4 other sets but thought I would give this a try. I did not like that the Sargent yellow were poured in sloppy so they were not flat in the pan, paint was uneven. Then when the kids painted with these the paint came out of the pan. Each child buys a set from me, so I like to provide quality supplies and these did not meet my expectations. When I rinsed the Sargent paints, the lids fell off and would not snap back on. Would not recommend these paints.Other paints I like: I have been very happy with the Crayola washable watercolors for the price ( although pigment is not as bold but is perfect for younger kids since the black is not too dark) those are about $2. I also like the Crayola Educational watercolors (good pigments for about $4). I recently changed to the Prang 8 pan watercolor set ($3) which have good pigments, and the lids stay on, and I can replace colors once they are used up. Also they are in the same price range as the Sargent. This photo was taken after only one use of the paint!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I Love This Brand!
I purchased this set from Dick Blick based on their website description when comparing all the student brands of pan paint. I am very happy with this brand compared to others. The pans wet very, very easily. The colors are vivid and pleasing with good pigment load and mix very well. My favorite student set!
