Pigma Micron pens are acid-free and archival, making them ideal for papercrafts, journals, illustration, crafts, or any application requiring precision and permanance.

Unlike dye-based ink found in most pens and markers, Pigma ink will not feather or bleed, even through the thinnest paper. Pigma ink is derived from a single pigment to ensure color consistency, and is fadeproof against sunlight or UV light. Pigma inks will not clog or dry out like most mechanical pens.

Pens are not refillable.

Six sizes are available:

Pen Size 005 = Point Size 0.20 mm
Pen Size 01 = Point Size 0.25 mm
Pen Size 02 = Point Size 0.30 mm
Pen Size 03 = Point Size 0.35 mm
Pen Size 05 = Point Size 0.45 mm

Variable Quality--but Awesome!

The person who commented below should understand that these pens have a variable quality--you honestly have to either test them out individually, or buy them in bulk and return the lousy ones. They sure must have got hold of a bad batch or had rotten luck. I've used these since the late 80s and I think they're fantastic and last a long while if you treat them well. About 20% of stock is usually no good. But for the price (when you get a good one) they're great. I got 8 recently and only one is a little iffy (low ink I guess). Pilot pens are water-soluable--not these though. The lines last forever and you can paint over them if you want.

I have to buy these, but seriously, can someone PLEASE come up with something better?

I use them everyday for my illustrations and get tired of their weak flow, low scan depth, don't stand up to erasers, weak nibs, and they run out or start skipping too soon. I would love to be able to use Sharpie pens due to their rich flow and longevity, I often go over some lines with them when I have to. They do bleed though, and the inks don't match so I have to really be careful. As a pro I'm always looking for a cheaper, better alternative and haven't found one yet... But OUCH these prices hurt for as many as I have to go through!

I'm also curious as to WHY the brush pens are no longer available from Blick? Where'd they go guys? Can you PLEASE come up with your own comparable product at a lower cost? How about a bulk price?

I get all my supplies from you guys! Keep up the great work!
(but seriously, I hope you can come up with something better!!)

Since being introduced to zendoodling, I've been using permenant black pens up like crazy. The Micron Pens are not available locally (I live in rural area), so I was glad to buy the pens even if the postage doubled the price; better than doing a road trip and using gasoline. The important part is the pens are great, good dark color, write on all surfaces, and come in different diameter points.

I use the pens on my plastic models and they work great as the small tips will detail about anything on the models. All of my models are very detailed and are show worthly and gets looks at all the shows I go too.

I use these pens for my doodle-based artwork. I use a wide range of points and colors, and I have never had any problems with one of these markers. They are always my go-to pen of choice. The tips are consistent, the ink is smooth and flows well. I can't say enough good things about them. The value here on dickblick is terrific, the prices are always right.

When I retired from public life I also retired my Franklin planner. Now I use a small monthly calendar with not much space for data. The micron points are perfect for recording in such a small space - and best of all they HOLD the points 'til I lose the pen!

I work for an art department and we use ink nib pens religiously. microns are by far the office favorite. the only general complaint we have with this brand is the ink runs out faster than we would like. They are still the office favorite because of their clean lines, smooth flowing ink, and professional quality. We're all hoping this company finds a way to market refills for this product, so we could keep using these pens nonstop.
I ordered a box of .5s for everyone and i was disappointed to find they were multiple colors. i would have prefered the color of each be listed somewhere i needed all black.

I use the 005 and 01 pens, primarily, to create drawings which are then finished using high-quality ink pens. I do rely on the Micron Pens for creating thin, precise lines. Occasionally, I'm disappointed with the tips and with the short life of a pen, but Blick offers them at an excellent price compared to other online sites and to retail stores.
