I teach watercolor painting classes and recommend the Koi paints for my students. The set contains enough paints to get started and the quality is good at a moderate price.

Nice and good alternative

These watercolors are great. I recommend them to people who wanna try and experiment with watercolor paints as well. A side from that they flow nicely and are also good for watercolorist who do not wanna break the bank. I do love the pigment in them as well. These paints are comparable to the winsor and Newton as well. Definitely a worth while paint.

Great price and good watercolors

I am a long time Sakura user. Started way back in college. For the money, you can't beat the value. Good solid color for my personal projects. I have even traveled with them and a pad and camera. I use watercolors just like I use a camera. Quick drawings.

A very good quality student paint. Very brilliant colors, & it's always easy to tone down colors if they too bright, but not the other way round.
Great for young painters
from Arkansas Ozark Mountains
I like these paints for young painters who want "real" paint, because unlike the major brands designed for adult use, they're non-toxic. As a plus, they are good quality watercolors that are nice to use, with a nice color balance in the basic set. They make a great gift for young artists or students.

I used these paints throughout my AP/IB art class and they worked MAGICALLY. These paints are fantastic and Blick has them at half the price as the art store down the street!!
