Designed for easy transport and storage when you're working on the go, the Koi Water Brush from Sakura separates into two parts — a fine, flexible brush tip and a barrel handle with a plug to carry water. The comfortable grip is great for controlled blending, shading, and highlighting.

If you like water color but hate charging your brush...
from Marion Arkansas
The brush well holds plenty of water. I am not used to turning the brush the wrong way when I put the cap on. Its a neat little tool to use.

Great portable water brush
I love using the sakura water brushes for my travel watercolors because you can carry in in pieces filled with water using the included plug. It is my favorite.

Takes a while to get used to
When I first started using the brushes, (I got the large and small) I was disappointed. The water regulation in the small was not quite enough for me. I like my paint (I use it for gouache) to be more opaque than watery. I was finding that I couldn't get a solid color to look even. With more practice, however, I've come to love the brushes. I have to dab the brush frequently, but it keeps the brush clean. I find squeezing the brush quickly makes the bristles become damp but not overly wet. It's a great feeling to walk around without a water cup and dry brushes. Don't think I'll go back to traditional brushes. I can't get finer lines and details with these water brushes if I remember to use them carefully.

These are really neat to use. They don't leak and hold lots of water. The large brush is great for filling large AND small areas. The small brush's tip is really long and was a bit awkward to me. This shouldn't turn you away from the brushes, though. I've yet to orderthe medium brush because it was on backorder when I placed my order. It's probaboy the perfect brush.

AWESOME FOR THE PRICE
from Yadkinville, NC
I got this on-the-go brush because I wanted to paint in places where water is difficult to access. It is is a great brush and I truly love it!-It does take a while to get accustomed to knowing how much to squeeze the barrel of water, but it's not difficult.-A fantastic investment!-You can store it as 1 entire brush or in two different compartments.I love this brush! :)
Reliable and Practical
from middle-of-nowhere, Washington
My only complaint about these brushes is how easy it was for me to misplace the itty bitty plug that can be put on the water tank to make the brush smaller for transport.Otherwise, I adore these, and like the results.

By May abandon oils for watercolor
from San Francisco, CA
I am an oil painter who decided against the hassle of flying with oils for a recent 2-week trip. But I still wanted to paint every day, so I pulled out watercolors from college. This water brush makes it possible and easy for me to paint everywhere: in museums, aboard planes, on buses, during recitals -- you name it. I've been painting with it nearly every day for 10 weeks and cannot complain: a lot more than I could say about just about any other brush.

when out of the studioand needing a nifty easy way to apply wash or use a watercolorpencil, this is the thing. Worth a try with paints and pencils.

This water brush was completely unusable, i could not unscrew the portion that holds the water from the brush to fill it with water, I suppose I could use it as an ordinary brush. a real disappointment as I usually love all things Sakura.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
