The Safe-T Compass is easy, safe, and accurate. It features fixed radii, which make setting adjustments unnecessary and simplify circle, arc, and geometric construction work. Designed especially for safety, the Safe-T Compass is a great tool for use by children.
It draws circles from 1/4" to 10" in diameter in 1/8" increments. It includes a 4" straight edge on two sides. Use the Safe-T Compass with wooden, mechanical, or coloring pencils and most ballpoint, plastic point, or felt tip pens.

Comments about Safe-T Compass:
Some students really liked this type of compass so I don' t regret purchasing the product for variety, but the plastic is thin and flimsy, not the best quality. When you are trying to outfit a class of 30, you want the best value and a lasting product.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Perfect for the Classroom
from Pilot Grove, MO
This compass is perfect for all ages. I use it in each of my art classes, K-12. It is durable and affordable!
Love this compass!
This is a great easy to use compass. Unfortunately mine went missing so I ordered a new one. It's not as bulky as a traditional compass and I can use almost any pencil or pen with it to make a perfect circle. It also includes measurements of circles you can make which is really nice if I need a specific size.
Very nice design
from Bradford, VT
I bought this to draw circles on canvas, since my regular compass poked holes in the canvas. It works very well, and has a very clever design.
easy to ise
from Spotsylvania, VA
Great tool for students designing artwork containing circles. Since it is flat to the paper most students have more control with this tool than conventional compasses. Np points for the students to play with is a benefit for younger children.

I was disappointed but what can you expect for an inexpensive gadget. It does well making large circles, so I will use it for that as sometimes it is difficult to spin a regular compass when making large circles. But this was very hard to use for smaller circle as the center plastic ring does not move easily with a pen or pencil in a hole. For use for large circles only.
Good safety compass
from Beggs, OK
Good compass. Center piece pops out easily (and gets "lost"). Plastic is nice safety feature. Relatively durable.

I use these in my elementary art class. they are easy to use and pretty durable. sometimes the white part of the compass pops out but it's really easy to snap back in. the kids enjoy using them.

Made in China, each compass is made from thin plastic and came with a printed page called "How to use your safe-T Compass." However, the entire page was printed backwards, so I guess you'd have to hold it up to a mirror to be able to read it. Nevertheless, The compasses are just what I needed to supplement the missing or broken ones from a set that I've had for ten years. 4th grade and up are able to use them with accuracy. These are an essential in my art classroom. The print on them will fade and wear away over time, but they are still a great drawing tool.
