Royal Sovereign Clay Shapers
Comments about Royal Sovereign Clay Shaper Sets:
I am working with polymer clay. These shapers are like extensions of my fingers, only they can get into small spaces where my fingers can't. They work fantastic and clean up easily. I have two sets, a #2 and a #6. I would recommend these clay shapers to anyone.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Excellent product, but...

The box it came in. The actual product is the size of, oh, about 2 pencils strapped together, times 5, in a long small plastic bag. The box i got it in was larger than a shoebox, this lead to annoyances with the delivery, as the actual product was small enough to be shipped directly to my mailbox, but due to the oversized bag i had to travel to fetch it.The actual product works well as far as iv'e noticed, altough i wish they carried it in some nicer colours, i'm getting tired of everything being black all the time.
Looked everywhere for clay shapers and Blick had them!

Sculpting small Christmas elves with polymer clay is made so much easier when I use the clay shapers I just bought. I can attain so much more detail which is exactly what I was looking for!
Good for oil pastel

I'm just starting to use oil pastels for painting and had hard time with detailed work. I use the clay shaper to work details on oil pastel painting and it is very good at holding its shape and moving the paint around. I have the softer clay shaper, and that is too soft for oil pastels.

I use these clay shapers for hand built ceramics. They are exactly what I need for fine finishing details on my pottery.

While I am not using these tools for the purpose of clay shaping, I can say they have been absolutely fantastic. They shape the mediums I'm working with extremely well and are easy and quick to clean. I absolutely recommend people to try them out and utilize them. I for one have not been disappointed in the least.I was first introduced to them while giving a demo on gel mediums at a Blick art store and they were amongst the tools available for me to use in giving the demo. I couldn't resist trying them out and since I've had to pick up some of the tools for myself.Absolutely fantastic!

Indispensible little wonders
from NYC, NY
I first heard of this product thru another artist. I initially purchased a Size 0 ClayShaper open stock retail and fell in love with it. I use these tools for fine detail work in my soft pastel (dusties) and oil pastel paintings. It allows you to created wonderful smooth, tight edge work and/or fine details for rendering hair and fur in portraits and figure studies. The smooth silicone tips can pick up, or carve out, just the right amount of pigment where ever you might need it, or from where ever you may not want it! I just purchased the 5 piece set in Size 2 Firm/Black tip. It comes in other grades of Soft or Medium/Grey or White tips - known as ColourShapers. I preferred the resilience of the Black silicone tips. I feel they are superior to stumps or tortillons in blending and moving color around on your painting. Easy to clean, just wipe with a cloth or paper towel. Well made product. Highly recommend.

These little tools make magic happen!

In creating clay portraits or detailed projects of any kind in clay, these tools are invaluable for those fine details where precision it required and smoothing is necessary..the rubber tipped tools are perfect being flexible to get into tight spaces and easier to control than the traditional wood/metal/plastic tools, though these do have their places.
