Bought a size 8 and size 3 round. The size 8 is wonderful, almost as good as a great sable, fine point and holds plenty of water. The size 3 is ok, I use it as a mixing brush now, it cant do finer detail than the size 8.If I was buying again I wouldn't get a smaller size round than a 6. Media: watercolor.

I live in Mumbai, India, and had placed an order for W&N Scepter Gold II brushes. But I was informed that any brush with natural hair cannot be shipped out of the US.

So, after hours of reaserch and reading of reviews on the net, I decided to order Robert Simmons' White Sable brushes.

Here is what I have to say:
Look of the brushes - Beautiful
Reservoir capacity - excellent
Points of the hairs - perfect
Weight of the brushes - just right
Color releasing ability - almost as good as natural sable hair
Cleaning - extremely easy
Price - a steal
Additional comment - these are like Harry Potter's magic wand!!!!!

I have used Robert Simmons' Brushes for decades; I have a #36 Goliath that I bought in the 1980's (from Dick Blick)that still comes to a decent point even after decades of use.

Their color holding capacity is good, but their response is excellent. I recommend these brushes to all of my students.

Also, I like ordering from Dick Blick as they have quality merchandise and rapid shipping!

I prefer to stick with Blick!

I'm a scenic artist routinely doing work for Disney and Universal and I love these brushes. I tried several different brands of scripts and liners recently and these were - hands down - the best. They hold the paint, make gorgeous smooth long curves, stay pointed after hours and hours of use, don't splay at all, and wear exceptionally well. Need I say more....

The oval mop is my favorite brush for applying anything where I don't want brush marks, and/or to make seamless blends. I use fairly thin glazes in many layers in my paintings. The Robert Simmons white sable brushes are among my favorite tools.

I purchased one flat size 12 brush and one round brush, same size. It really surprised me how soft the synthetic fibers are. They can carry a generous amount of watercolour and don't lose the shape even after several strokes. Wish I had bought more!!!
Another thing to point out regarding this purchase is the packing. My package had to travel a great deal of kilometers and it arrived in perfect condition. Everything came very well protected. I definitely recommend Blick Art to world wide customers.

I purchased a few of these brushes after they were recommended in one of Joyce Roletto Faulknor's watercolor books on painting crystal. Since then, they have become my absolute favorite brand! The flats are excellent for controlling lines, edges and details. I also use them for lifting pigment as they have so much spring and keep their shape. When I need to clean up a line or straighten an edge - they really do the job. The rounds are so juicy and really hold the pigment. These are my go-to brushes - to me they beat sables and sable-blends and are so affordable!
