Welcome to dickblick
Robert Simmons pioneered a revolution in synthetic brushes, creating a unique blend of filaments that perform so remarkably like pure red sable that they earn the name "White Sable." Simmons's White Sable brushes offer superb point and spring at a fraction of the cost of red sable.
The original synthetic artist's brushes for watercolor and acrylic are still guaranteed for life — just as they were when Robert Simmons introduced them in 1972.

Must have brushes
from Goodyear, AZ
Comments about Robert Simmons White Sable Brushes:
I am new to watercolor and was watching a video on youtube that suggested the purchase of these brushes. I decided to purchase them and boy oh boy did they make a difference. I have much more control and they hold more paint etc. These brushes have taken my work to the next level. I can now do what I have seen others do.Well worth the price.

Good watercolor brush

One of my favorite artists used this brand in his demo. I ordered a couple to try out and I like them very much.
Love these brushes!

Comments about Robert Simmons White Sable Round:
These are the only brushes I use for laying enamels in my cloisonné. They spring like sable, yet with the white bristles I can easily see if there are stray grains of an errant color. They are durable, affordable and get the job done!
Best Brushes Ever!
from Southwest Missouri
I have used Robert Simmons' 785 series brushes both in the public school art classroom and for my personal artwork since the late l980s. The school brushes were lasting more than 20 years, with proper cleaning and conditioning. My personal brushes are still going strong after 30+ years, and I am just thankful that Dick Blick makes these beautiful brushes available at affordable prices, Thank you Dick Blick and Robert Simmons!

Really nice for watercolor
from California, CA
I saw some reviews saying that these are not soft and "hard" instead. They are actually pretty soft in my opinion. They hold water well and keep their pointy tip for tiny details (if you don't flood the brush with water that is, they do hold a lot of water). The only thing I don't like is the white bristle, only reason is that watercolor taint/dye them, so now my brush is this muddy black color with some red/blue/violet highlights.
Great To Paint With
from Chapel Hill, NC
These brushes are great because of their flexible effect especially when glazing. I use them with the Holbein Vernet oil paints that have a smooth quality to them. They work great. I highly recommend them.
