I love this paper but they are now putting stickers on each piece of their paper and it's really annoying when you have to peel if off. It unfortunately pulls off some of the cotton fibers and there isn't anyway to avoid this.

This paper was introduced in my printmaking class and when I had some left over I took it home to experiment with other processes. Of course it is a supreme printmaking paper, there is not a thing wrong about it. My favorite thing to do with this paper though is to combine watercolor and ink on it. At first I was against the texture of the paper because it is really soft and and the way they put sizing on the paper and all the individual little fibers would cause my brush to catch and the line wouldn't have those super sharp edges. All this did was allow me to use watercolor in a different way and I found I was putting more water on the paper yet my watercolors were turning out better. They seemed more luminescent and the layers really showed through and without stretching the paper it was able to take tons of water and still lay perfectly flat and unphased. The way it accepts mediums like charcoal and pastel also amazes me and has allowed me to experiment in formats I would not have on either traditional cold press or hot press watercolor paper. This paper seems to be the perfect medium because it has tooth yet is incredibly smooth to the eye and touch.

I ordered the white, 280 gsm paper, and it was better than I was expecting. The paper itself was the the top-quality BFK paper I've come to love for intaglio prints, charcoal/pencil drawings, and even watercolor (the paper allows for beautiful watercolor + colored pencil illustrations), but as an art student I found that the cardboard box it came in is very useful as well: The entire front side functions as the lid, so you can place art pieces in the box without having to worry as much about smudging them.

In addition to the price (which is significantly cheaper than the BFK paper in any art store I've been to), I would definitely order paper here again.

To be honest for me the color of the paper is just as important as the texture and quality of the paper. I use only extremely white paper to create a contrast between the inks I am using. Unfortunately, I am unable to do that with these particular sheets. However, texture good and pricing decent.

I use this for dry media and printmaking lithography BFK is an all time must use for lithography and the softer surface gives me unique results for my charcoal and dry mediums love it. The sale price was the best price I found compared to other art supply stores.

This is a great paper for all kinds of printmaking work. The only issue I have is with the adhesive labels attached to each sheet. I'm not sure if this is done at the manufacturer or at Blick but lately all my 22x30 sheets have blemishes where the pricing label was adhered. It's nearly impossible to remove the label without leaving adhesive or pulling up paper fibers. The result is that several inches of the sheet are lost. It's really aggravating when you print on quarter sheets (11x15) and you can't squeeze four prints out of a full-size sheet. Maybe soaking the paper helps but if you print dry (using non-toxic inks, for example) this is not an option. In the past, I haven't encountered this issue. So the problem may be intermittent and a function of a particular batch of paper.

This paper is truly excellent. It's the highest quality paper I own easily, however.... I didn't do much research into this paper. I bought it for drawing with charcoal, and any amount of working with a blending stick of chamois results in paper that gets fuzzy and peels. That was very disappointing since I don't paint much. But this paper is very nice for watercolors, so that's what I use it for.

Rives printmaking papers hardly need yet another shower of praise from yet another artist. They are the world standard and we are fortunate indeed to have this historic paper making company still with us and still making paper after hundreds of years.
The only thing I might add is that I have used Rives papers for years for lithography and intaglio printing but I have only recently discovered that it receives a beautiful image in an ink jet printer as well.
