Rising boards were created by Rising Paper more than 50 years ago to supply museums’ demands for a true conservation and preservation framing board. Over the years, in conjunction with Legion Paper, Rising Paper expanded the range into a family of museum boards known for their exceptional and unmatched quality. Today, under the stewardship of Legion Paper, Rising is the first choice of framers, museums, and conservators for the mounting, matting, and preservation of fine prints and precious documents. In fact, Rising exceeds the standards set by the Library of Congress.
Machine-made of 100% cotton, Rising Museum Boards are acid-free, neutral pH, and buffered with calcium carbonate for added protection, with a color that is solid throughout and will not fade, scuff, or bleed. Rigid quality control ensures consistency across the range, producing a board free of specks, dirt, or blemishes.
The preservation characteristics of Rising make it the ideal matting and mounting solution for fine art. Its superior cutting quality makes for an ultra-sharp and clean bevel to enhance the framed art.
The range consists of a focused color palette to complement all works of art, sized for French matting. Many artists find them ideal for various fine art techniques that include drawing, charcoal, pastel, silkscreen, and letterpress.
Color Chart Note — Use this color chart as an approximation of the real color. If exact color matching is necessary, use actual samples of the materials.

You won't get bord with this drawing surface
from Vancouver, Washington
Comments about Rising Museum Board:
I was a little skeptical about purchasing Rising Museum Board for my drawing surface because I have never used it. As a Graphite, and colored pencil artist I primarily use Strathmore Bristol Board, and Stonehenge, but wanted to broaden my horizon, so-to-speak, in experiencing other drawing surfaces. I can honestly say I'm glad I did! If you haven't tried Rising Museum Board for your drawing experience I recommend you give it a try.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

When only the best will do.

100% cotton rag board from Rising is the standard for museum framing. I use this board for all of my archival framing needs.
Quality and Color
I ordered the mat board to go with my etchings for a holiday show. I wanted the images to go together and chose Zinc. It was perfect and went with all the colors and brought out the image. I was tired of all white or light cream and I really like this look. I will order it again.
Good price and fast service
from Diamond Springs, CA
I ordered 10 full sheets of Rising Museum Board in white. This white has no color casts so it is the perfect mat for my photographs. Blick processed the order and sent it out within a few days with no extra charge for shipping. The box of mat board arrived without even a mushed corner because it was packed so well. Excellent product and excellent service.
Great for matting artwork
By Liz in Atlanta
We frame our own artwork (water colors and photography) to save money. This archival quality Matboard is the best out there, and cuts cleanly using our mat cutter to produce beveled edges. The 32" x 40" is perfect for cutting 4 16" x 20" mats.Because the previous two orders arrived with dented corners, however, I let them know this when reordering, requesting thatthey use extra cardboard to protect the corners during shipment. They did, so we can get 4 mats instead of only 3 from each piece!Suggest you request the same when ordering.
Holds Up, Doesn't Disappoint
I ordered a large board and cut it down to a few pieces. It held up really well. The quality is excellent. I even needed to sand down a couple edges and the material held up really well. I will defiantly be buying and recommending this product.
I will continue to buy this product from Blick

This is my first experience with this product but it is a beautiful surface for colored pencil drawing. It is easy to cut as well.
Blick delivers on Museum Board
from Coupeville, WA
I always use Rising Museum Board for mounting and matting artwork. However, living on an island means a miserable drive to Seattle. Blick did a great job of packing and shipping my order from halfway across the country to me. The price was not lowball, but still was less than the total cost had I done the 200 mile trip to the big city.
