The Richeson Grey Matters line is built on the simple, yet often overlooked concept that nothing should stand between the artist and the canvas.
From the neutral Grey Matters disposable palette to the Grey Matters brush series, no distracting colors or reflective metals come between the artist and a perfectly chosen color.
The brushes in Richeson Grey Matters Brush Sets feature non-reflective hair, non-reflective ferrules, and non-reflective handles — perfect for plein air or in the studio, and ideal for use with toned palettes and canvas.
These sets contain six brushes each.
Long and Short Handles — Long handles are recommended for easel style painting, while short handles are recommended for table-top painting where the artwork lies flat, especially with water media.

Comments about Richeson Grey Matters Brush Sets:
I received the set of 6 bristle grey matters with 6 more synthetics free on one of your specials. I use them for oils and am very pleased with the selection.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I happend to order these brushes when black was offering an extra set so I ended up getting two sets for the price of one which was amazing! The bristle brushes are perfect for applying thick oil paint and the synthetic ones are great for detail.

Love these brushes! I found them to be very responsive, and they retain their shape well after use. Would definitely recommend.

Love These Brushes

I do plein air painting and live in Southern California so there is plenty of sunlight. Most brushes come polished, shiny ferrules which are nice to look at and easy to clean. The problem outdoors is that they reflect sunlight which can be very irritating. Someone has finally thought of making the ferrules a nice non-reflecting dark gray finish. These brushes also have nice long handles which I prefer. The fact that they were offered with another free set of 6 brushes was a real bonus. I'm a happy painter!

I've been really happy with these brushes. It was hard to decide on a set, but these work great and I thought the price was reasonable. I bought 2 more sets as gifts.
Ordered this when it was a "Buy one, get one free" deal and it was really worth it! I particularly liked the synthetic oil brush set but the Bristle oil set is nice too.

someone in our oil painting group purchased these and after trying them we all ordered some. I'm preferring them over the bristle type brushes. They hold the paint and lay it down perfectly. Just enough stiffness, but still springy and flexible. We'll see how they hold up with use
