I am a frequent and happy Blick customer; but bought this item from a competitor (who doesn't offer the ability to review it). Just wanted to chime in that I must agree with the other reviewers. This is a flimsy, cheaply made, poorly engineered product. The bag itself is kind of neat and I'm hoping to re-purpose it but the metal frame is a total waste of money and is now in the trash--it bent and went flat to the ground the first time I (carefully) sat on it (and I am within the weight limitations identified for the product). As another stated, even if it hadn't broken, it is far too low to be comfortable or useful as a seat while painting...and too low to even be a good temporary tabletop. A backpack and a collapsible camp chair make a far better alternative--for about the same price.

This product was very disappointing, I used it once or twice and noticed it didn't hold very well, then a friend tried it, and he actually broke through it. It was very expensive to ship this item to Canada and understandably, I would have preferred not to waste my money on it.

This 'backpack' art bag is SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT! The stool seat is a mere 8/12 inches off the ground when I sit on it. I am only a small build and it is so low (even for me, 5 feet 3 and 58 Kg) that it is not possible to sit on the stool and even attempt to paint! A bigger person would break this flimsy piece of equipment. It was shipped all the way to me in Australia and it is going back immediately. The stitching was faulty as was one of the rings which connects the thin straps to the frame. I have had a Windsor and Newton backpack art bag for about 20 years and was replacing it because the zipper had finally broken. I am going to have this wonderful backpack with its sturdy stool repaired. DO NOT BUY A RICHESON BACKPACK SEAT!!

I'm afraid I agree with the other reviewer. It simply collapsed on the floor with me, and I'm not a terribly large person, 5 1/2". It will be going back at the first opportunity.

I would definitely warn off any friend looking for a portable backpack stool.

First, let me say that Blicks is wonderful and honored their full satisfaction commitment with a full refund. The seat was too low to sit on and could not bear more than 50 pounds of weight without collapsing. There was only one strap that came with the bag so I could not figure out how it can be used as a backpack. Had the frame been sturdier to hold a 140 pound person, the seat 4 inches higher and two straps to use as as backpack, this would have been great but I could not use it for anything and so it was returned.
