from Fort Lauderdale, FL
Comments about Reeves Watersoluble Wax Pastel Sets:
I love my crayons & the price & the fast shipping was Amazing! My days as an Artist were long gone until I found these crayons. It makes it easy to create water color paintings without all the work that takes using regular pallets. I just draw whatever I want with one of the crayons, and the color it like a child would, - And then wet each part with a brush and Wala! A work of Art !
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Pastels great for blending
from West Covina, CA
I'm not very well versed in pastels. I bought them in order to begin learning and to use for my OOAK doll projects. So far I have used them on mixed media paper, and my favorite thing is adding water to blend colors or to just do some type of painting. Unlike water color pencils, these pastels provide more control. The result of adding water is a solid, light painted look, much like water color paint or pencils, but without the possibility of water stains. My only disappointment is how similar they are to crayons. I was expecting softer material for some reason. I mainly like to do the water method with them.My favorite thing about this set is how many colors you get for such a cheap price.
i would buy this product again
I use these for watercolors and mix media. Good price for quantity and quality.

I am delighted with my Reeves wax pastels. I have only had them for a couple of weeks and I've enjoyed experimenting. These are the only ones I have used so I really can't compare. I just know I have had fun "playing" with them. The colors are true and mix easily dry.or wet. Thanks Reeves!
Great new addition!

Gret choice of colors
from Helena, Mt
I wet a brush and rub it in the flat end in order to get a watercolor effect. Crayons are hard compared toEuropean beans which make the breakable and shading less subtle. Wettin them helps

Not Lyra or Neocolor II but they will do
from Somerset, nj
Don't expect these to have the lightfast ratings or be nearly as creamy as the Lyra Aquacolor or color rich as the Neocolor II. I use them as an under painting for my expensive water color crayons so I don't waste my Neocolor IIs. I also use them for my journal pages again sparring their more expensive counterparts. As someone on a budget I learned to work with cheaper materials i.e scholastic to get the results I need and these are no different. With some patience you can blend these quite easily as oppose to other water color crayons in this category. I wish I bought the 48 pack. I am not a great artist but these will do.
