This inspirational book by Terry Harrison offers instruction for artists who want to learn to paint without relying on their drawing skills. In its pages, Harrison describes and illustrates how to paint five Irish scenes, including a crofter's cottage, a pub front, and a Dublin doorway. The book includes six reusable tracings to pull out and transfer onto watercolor paper — one for each of the five step-by-step demonstrations, plus a bonus tracing of the painting in the book’s introduction, and full instructions on how to transfer the images. Harrison’s no-nonsense teaching style takes the mystery out of watercolor painting, while his tracings and step-by-step photographs make it easy for artists to reproduce all of the projects. Terry Harrison became interested in art early on, attending art school at the age of 16. His studies led to a career in graphics, when he became an illustrator, developed his own painting style and perfected his techniques during evenings and weekends. Demand grew for his paintings and he soon gave up his “day job” to paint full time. Harrison currently has a full schedule of exhibitions, private commissions, demonstrations, and painting holidays. His fine art prints are sold in shops and galleries everywhere and he has recently opened a successful art gallery where he displays and sells his paintings. Harrison is an energetic and prolific painter and his regular re-bookings for demonstrations reflect an enthusiastic response to his educational and entertaining style. Author — Terry Harrison.
