Tony Cowlishaw is an established professional artist who was born in Shrewsbury and has been based in Nottingham since 1972. He works in oil and watercolors, and has exhibited at Nottingham Castle Museum and Art Gallery and the University of Nottingham Art Gallery, as well as numerous craft shows and art festivals throughout the United Kingdom.

Cowlishaw is also an art lecturer, specializing in Italian Renaissance art. He demonstrates and conducts workshops throughout the United Kingdom and is also a judge for art exhibitions. He has released DVDs, demonstrated at Blenheim Palace, and written numerous articles for national painting magazines.
