The unique synthetic fibers in the Raphaël Soft Aqua brush brush offer a fluid retention capacity equal to no other, holding twice as much color as conventional brushes.
The wavy, undulating shape of the fibers creates spaces that hold water molecules — in contrast to conventional synthetic fibers, which are straight and slippery.
The Raphaël Soft Aqua brush is ideal for watercolors, ink, gouache, tempera, and diluted acrylics.

Comments about Raphaël Raphaël Soft Aqua Brush:
I will have to get a few more of these brushes. It's size is bigger than I wanted for detail work but I like it for my smaller paintings. I can still do detail work because it has a fine point on it even though it is a round or Fuller brush. These hold a lot of water
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Kind of Disappointed because of a curly brush. :(

Comments about Raphaël Soft Aqua Round:
Well, I received the Soft Aqua round Brushes today. I ordered like 5 different sizes, I'm happy about it. Unfortunately, The size #6 is kind of ruined. I was looking forward for the size #6 the most. The #6 brush doesn't hold the point and the synthetic fibers are curly which is not good for a watercolor brush. I'm really sad because I was so excited for the brushes and heard a lot of good reviews. It's just the size #6 is totally ruined. It don't feel good while using it. :( (Sorry for my English)
I'm a beginner watercolor explorer and I love this brush. It is one of my main brush staples. Holds a point and gives a nice brush stroke.
I have been trying out synthetic watercolor brushes- one from each line that I'm curious about- and I think that Soft Aqua size 16 round is my favorite so far! I guess I love synthetic squirrel- I like how much water and pigment the brush holds and how soft and pliable the brush is too. Since I ordered a size 16 I thought the brush would be huge but it's much smaller than my size 14 Loew Cornell ultra round that received in the same shipment. It's hard to know the differences in sizes between brands while online shopping. But I still love this brush- it is fluffy and fabulous. I think I will try a Raphael Soft aqua quill next and since I like the softness of synthetic squirrel maybe the neptunes as well!
I am so happy with this
I love this brush. It glides well, and the smooth-matte finish of the handle feels lovely in my hand.

Wonderful synthetic squirrel brush. While it doesn't have the paint carrying capacity of my Isabey squirrel mop, it is the best synthetic brush that I have tried so far. When using it, I do not miss my Isabey squirrel mop as much. Plus, I am not as paranoid about about losing or damaging it.It has a nice point and large water holding capacity compared to the synthetic sable or golden taklon brushes that I have tried. Princeton Neptune is also pretty good, but I like the size 0 mop that Raphael offers, and Princeton doesn't offer a mop in that size.

This brush has brought back the love of watercolor for me. A big brush I can do almost a whole painting with, even details to some degree.
I won't be caught without it
I purchased the quill mop in a size 6. The size us just right for my purpose and I can't say enough positive things about the quality. I own some of the best natural brushes available ; sable and squirrel quills, this one is right there with the best. I find it provides more control than a full squirrel. #1 pick for my plein air kit. Will definitely purchase more.

Comments about Raphaël Soft Aqua Quill:
I love this brush. I got the #4 quill. I have painted several watercolors with it and it is my new favorite brush. It holds a LOT of water. I used it for 11x 15" landscape/ seascape paintings and it lasted plenty of time after being loaded. It has a sharp point and feels very comfortable in my hand. Perfect balance. I painted the paintings below with mostly this brush.

I love this brush
I am a watercolor artist. I have painted a few 11x15" watercolor paintings with this brush and It works fabulous. I have the #4. It holds a ton of water/paint and has a really nice, fine point. It is very well made and has a short handle with a perfect balance. It is extremely controllable, versatile and easy to use. It has become my new favorite and best brush. I have many brush's. If I could only have one brush for all my paintings, it would be this one. The painting below was painted almost all with this brush accept the fine boat detail. Make particular note of the sail wash.
Painted mostly with Raphael Soft Aqua #4
