Raphaël developed the Paris Classic for the Impressionists, who asked for a brush that would offer looser and more expressive brushstrokes than traditional stiff bristle brushes. An authentic piece of 19th century art history, this brush offers today’s artist the same features that made it a favorite of the modern masters — superior, extra-white hog bristles, and soft, thick tufts that splay uniformly for expressive and generous applications of color. Every brush in the line, including the unique Short Filbert assortment, has a traditional varnished copper ferrule. Note — Brush sizes are not standardized. The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size varies considerably by manufacturer. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from a given manufacturer. see also ... ® Raphaël is a registered trademark. |
