As the oldest brushmaker in Europe, Raphaël sources only the finest hairs and bristles, sorted and dressed by traditional methods. Mixacryl brushes combine these natural bristles with synthetic bristles to produce state-of-the-art brushes with enhanced performance characteristics. Whether used by the professional or novice, Raphaël brushes offer an unparalleled combination of traditional quality, innovation, and value.
Mixacryl brushes for acrylics combine the strength and retention of a natural bristle with the spring and vigor of synthetic fibers. The synthetic fibers add a sense of touch that is perfect for impasto and relief effects, with the color retention you expect from natural bristle. The interlocked assembly is perfect for heavy body acrylics and gives an excellent response on the canvas, even on rough surfaces. Brushes may contain white or dark colored hair. The performance of the brush is not affected by the hair color.
Easy to clean and maintain, Mixacryl brushes feature long wood handles and a matte, nickel-plated brass ferrule that eliminates glare.
Mixed Media Flat, Series 295 — Requests from artists led Raphaël to complement its best-selling collections with Flat brushes in a range of sizes. The interlocked assembly is perfect for heavy body acrylics, impastos, and relief effects, and gives an excellent response on the canvas. These brushes can also be used with oil paints and gesso.
Note — Brush sizes are not standardized. The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size varies considerably by manufacturer. Since fine art brushes are hand crafted, expect some variation even among brushes from a given manufacturer.
