Welcome to dickblick
Reap the benefits of high quality oil paints while enjoying the freedom to draw directly on your surface, without the distancing factor of the brush.
Handmade and richly pigmented, R&F Pigment Sticks are comparable in quality to the finest tube oil paints. They have a lipstick soft consistency that gives them the same fluidity, subtlety, and durability of traditional oil colors.
R&F Pigment Sticks are handmade in small batches, carefully milled and molded using the finest natural wax, linseed oil, and pigment. There are no driers, extenders or other additives that are commonly used in industrial production.
Extremely portable, Pigment Sticks can be layered or mixed with traditional fine oil paints and mediums. They dry to a durable film, and can be used on any support proper for oil or encaustic painting. Small sticks are 38 ml, with approximately the same amount of pigment as a standard tube of artist oil paint, while large sticks are 188 ml.

What «neutral» grey light???
Comments about R&F Pigment Sticks:
I wrote a rewiew of the R&F Pigments sticks dated 10/29/2014. I invite you to go and read it; it may be helpful as well since there is some factual informations shared there. But here, I want to let people know that, if you want a «neutral» grey don't get this one. It is blue! It should be identified as a «blue grey» not a «neutral grey».
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

If I didn't have R&F oil sticks, it would be like painting with one hand tied behind my back.

Love these pigment sticks
from Edinburg, TX
I have wanted to try encaustics for years, and didn't want to start without having a variety of pigment sticks. I read lots of reviews before choosing what everyone said were the best. They are much bigger than I thought, so they will last a long time. They are creamy and rich in color.

I tried the R &F pigment stick because I could not find the color I wanted from the company I usually use. I was delighted with the results. The stick moved beautifully with gesture and precision. The pigment was just what I had hope. I will use more in the future.

great product for painters in all media
from memphis, tennessee
I use these Rand F oil sticks on every surface. The colours are brilliant. If temperature neglected they can dry up but that is just part of the game. I love them. They last forever if properly cared for. They can also melt in heated areas. Nevertheless, a super tool.

I use the sticks on paper, gesso board, and plan to try them on canvas. Love their spreadability and cleanliness. The ease of clean-up is fabulous.
I would buy these again!

R & F pigment sticks like product, opportunity for creativi

I use them to accent gouged lines and adding depth. They are buttery and smooth compared to any other cheaper sticks which were a waste of money. I should have bought R&F sticks first and all along! colors are bright and steadfast and true to color even when melted for encaustics!I like the packaging tubes they come in, I ordered them and paid Canadian dollars but I still think they were good value for the money well spent!the service was great and arrived packaged well.So far I have no negative points about them,
R&F Pigment sticks are the best. I use them all the time.

I use R&F pigment sticks for most of my work. they do very well on paper that is sized for oil paint. The colors are just beautiful. The down part of using the sticks is they can be messy to use, and one can not mind getting one's hands soiled by the colors. However, for the most part, the colors can be washed off with soap and water.I have won several large awards for my art using R&F oil sticks.
Draw with oil paint! R&F Pigment Sticks are incredibly soft, creamy, and are comparable in quality to the finest tube oil paints. The stick form allows for unique applications. They are easily portable and do not require brushes or solvents.
See artist Charles Forsberg build layer upon layer of luscious R&F Pigment oil sticks to create an amazing work of art.
