The R&F Hot Plates are the perfect tool for working with encaustic paints. They provide a platform on which to keep knives and brushes warm and ready for use. They also make a great heated surface for mixing colors. The aluminum plate is available in 12" × 12" (30 cm × 30 cm) with a 1/4" (6.4 mm) thick surface, or 16" × 16" (41 cm × 41 cm) with a 3/8" (9.5 mm) thick surface. The surfaces are made of thick aluminum steel alloy and have been anodized to prevent discoloration of several of the light pigments. Heat is conducted evenly across the entire surface, making the plates ideal for use with palette cups (sold separately), or for mixing colors directly on the surface. Both Hot Plates include a heat source. 16" x 16" Hot Plate — This Hot Plate features adjustable legs and also includes an attached brush holder. Small Rectangle Cups, Pkg of 3 — This pack includes three small rectangular palette cups. Each cup measures 3-1/4" × 2-1/4" (8.3 cm × 5.7 cm) and holds one 40 ml Large Rectangle Cups, Pkg of 3 — This pack includes three large rectangular palette cups. Each cup measures 3-7/8" × 2-1/2" (9.8 cm × 6.4 cm) and holds one full-size R&F encaustic cake for easy melting. Caution: a ™ R&F is a trademark. |
