If you're interested in non-toxic fine art printmaking, the Pronto-Plate 5000 is the solution you've been waiting for!
Pronto-Plates are the least expensive, most efficient option for direct-to-plate printing in smaller offset printing applications. Commercial printers and in-plant printing departments with small offset printing presses can be on press in minutes. Designers, desktop publishers, and in-house graphics departments can easily output their designs onto Pronto-Plates and bring them to a local printer to run.
Half the price of metal plates (and competitive with the cost of silver-based plates), Pronto-Plates offer savings of up to 88 percent over metal plate technology, and 58 percent over Silvermaster by eliminating hardware, harmful chemicals, and consumables such as developers, fixers, film negatives, masking, plate cleaners, and plate etches.
Other Pronto-Plate benefits include:
What's more, Pronto-Plates can be output from the HP LaserJet5000 (the least expensive laser printer in its class) for beautiful runs on press.

It is great to be able to order this awesome product from overseas (NZ) and still save money on buying the same product domestically. I will certainly be using Blick again.

I recently took a Pronto plate printing class and now I'm super excited about this process. Its so much easier and cheaper than most other forms of printmaking. These plates are great. They do what theyre supposed to do. They're also cheaper than where I was getting them before and I don't have to cut them to printer size this way. Woo-hoo!
Great product, I will be buying again

We used the pronto paper to litho on Clay. It was mostly successful. I couldn't answer specific questions, i.e. does it matter what side you use? Since some results were good and some not. A basic instruction sheet or instructions on your site would remove some of my students doubts.

Cheap and Easy Intro to Printmaking
from Vermillion, SD
Pronto Plates are wonderful for teaching a lithography type experience when there is not time to teach a full litho class or when litho facilities are not available. They are a great quick introduction to the basics of printmaking at a very affordable price. We used the plates to introduce 20 high school students to printmaking even though they didn't have print facilities.

should be wrapped in plastic

I bought 20 pronto plates, and they were delivered promptly and there was one loose piece of bubble wrap on top, but they were left on my porch on the uncovered part. So it would be good if the plates were put in a plastic bag just in case the package had gotten wet.
Pretty great plates

These are fantastic for laser printing, ballpoint pen, sharpie and other tools to create a print matrix. They're my favorite plate supply when dealing with oil based ink and reproducing drawings in multiple. These are my go-to for plate lithography.

I have had great result, making my drawing first on paper,Tracing film, and any other material you my think of.Then I run the drawing onto the pronto plate thought a photo copier, not an ink jet, a laser.I use a water, gum and a little citric acid fountain solution, roll up with oil ink.My Question is how do you erase some of the image and reprint?

I purchased these for a lithograph assignment in my printmaking class. They arrived MUCH faster than expected, and were exactly what I needed. This was my first purchase from dickblick.com, and I will DEFINITELY be ordering from this site again.
