Use the Pro Needle Tool to cut heavy clay strips, cut designs in clay, and make holes. It's great for piercing the first primary hole in beads.
The large, sharp needle is firmly set in an aluminum handle and finely textured to provide a firm grip for wet hands. 6-1/8" (16 cm) long.

Pro Needle Tools - "Empty Bowls Project"
By Ms. W's Art Room
from Charlotte, NC
Comments about Pro Needle Tool:
All 500 students are creating clay bowls for our "Empty Bowls Project". This is to create an awareness of hunger in our local area. Even though my students are from high poverty homes, they love to help others. Our bowls will be sold at a PTA STEAM night in January and all proceeds will go to a local Food Bank. Having awesome clay tools, helped us clean our bowl edges easily and smoothly. We were using plastic and wooden tools. The Pro Needle tool is metal, very sharp, and cuts cleanly. It made our project building an enjoyable process.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Great for Detail!

I think these are great tools for elementary level students working on clay. It is great for drawing into the clay detail, texture, signatures, etc. I think students feel like a real artist using such a nice professional looking tool.

Thicker than the wooden handle
from New Mexico
This needle tool works fine for most things. Some people prefer the wooden kind because it is sharper and thinner which is better for cutting off the top of a pot you are throwing, or for making a smaller hole when you are testing the depth of the bottom of the pot. I'm looking for the thinner kind myself now, since I already have this kind.

I like these better than the one's with the wooden handles, which have a propensity to break. I also like the length of the needle. It's a great product.
