Prismacolor Schlar Art Pencils are always a beautiful choice
from The beautiful Mountains of West Virginia
Comments about Prismacolor Scholar Art Pencils:
These soft, vividly colored art pencils are always fun to work with. They blend well. They allow for really great control over shading and are typically hard enough to hold a soft point for outlining. My only two minor complaints are (1)that I wish the Prismacolor Scholar art pencils were numbered the same as the individual Prismacolor pencils available for purchase. I recently ordered two sets in order to ensure that I could replace two 3 specific colors I am using on a children's book illustration job as needed with no worry about color variation. And (2) Occasionally the softness of the product fractures or crumbles either in the pencil itself or during the sharpening process. This inevitably results in frustration and an inconveniently (and wastefully) shortening pencil.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Iunno, man, I liked these a lot.
from Mesa, AZ
It's been ages since I used the Scholar line of colored pencils, but I still remember being proud of the many drawings I made with these dang things as a teenager, haha.I graduated from Crayola to these, and from these to the Prismacolor Premier. They don't blend as well as their professional counterpart, but they're much better than your over-the-mill colored pencil, and they're great for getting acquainted with the Prismacolor brand.
Better than Marco
from Fowler, CO
These colored pencils are better than the Marco pencils I previously used. The various shades cover all of the main color groups. They are very smooth and seem to glide over the page, while leaving a nice, shiny surface. They also sharpen easily. The tip to hold the pencil in my left hand and turn the sharpener really works!

Great Quality with a Great Value!
from Chicago, IL
These colored pencils are well packaged so they arrive in good condition without the cracked and broken leads of many other varieties. The pencils have a velvety smooth application on the paper and are great for blending and layering colors! My students love these colored pencils! I love the artist quality at an affordable price.
Good Quality, True Color
By Color me relaxed
from Dunkirk, IN
I use the color pencils for my adult color books. It is really relaxing for me. I like that the pencils sharpen easy to a nice point, and they do not break easy.

Love my pencils
from Daphne, AL
I do a lot of coloring and wanted a high quality pencil at a reasonable price. That's just what I've found. I'm no professional by far so the scholar pencils are perfect for me without being expensive. I'll buy these again.
from Arlington, TN
The best for teaching middle school students color shading! These blend well for both mixing and shading. My students used them to create a color wheel this year. The resulting color wheel had rich color even on the mixed colors, and shades and tints.

they dont color very well and leave very many white spots...
they leave many white spots on paper and your have to press super hard to get an average result.. I would recommend prismacolor premiere instead I was not satisfied or happy with the result.
