Comments about Prismacolor Premier Double-Ended Chisel Tip Art Marker Sets:
Other than coloring in kindergarten, I have never taken an art class or had any inclination towards art. Faced with a long plane ride, I bought some adult coloring books and some inexpensive markers at the dime store. I was really struggling with staying in the lines and streaks, but worst of all was the lack of color choices. Coloring turned out to be good for my mental focus, eye/hand coordination, and dexterity. So before giving up on it altogether, I hunted around for a pen set with variety. These pens definitely cost more than what I had been using, and I wondered if they were really any better. And honestly, I struggled with the fact that I'm "not an artist" and whether they would be wasted on someone like me. They arrived today, and I could not be more pleased. Having the proper tools really does make a difference! There is some streaking, but not bad at all, and they are smooth enough that I can keep a more even stroke. The 200 different colors to choose from is a delight for someone who knows nothing about shading and mixing. I may never make anything worth framing, but for me it's about the process. These pens make the process fun. Even the box is fun. You can't tell from the picture, but it folds out to make a little work station with a color chart, and pigeon holes for groups of pens. The pens do fit in pretty tightly, so I just took some out and put them in a baggie to make it easer to use the slots. Great product.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

These pens are wonderful for coloring in both wide and very narrow spaces. Best thing is: they contain a lot of ink and last a long time, way longer than cheaper brands.

It can be used in many ways
I have ordered twice now and will order more
I got some of these as a gift a few years ago. I tried them and at first I didn't like them so well because I was used to using cheaper markers. A few months ago, I got into my art again more regularly, and started experimenting with them. I watched some tutorials online and figured out how to use them and loved them. They go on smoothly, you can change the tone by layering, mix colors, and they cover the space solidly. They do bleed through the paper, so I put a few sheets of scrap paper under the page I'm working on in my sketchbook (I used to put just one, then found that if I used more than two layers, it bled through both sheets). I have since ordered more colors, and have made myself a wish list of the other colors I want. They last a long time, too. I have not had any dry out yet, and I do artwork almost every day. I have not used other brands of art markers, so I have no comparison, but I will keep using these as they work excellently for my purposes.

I use these markers for coloring. I had been using Sharpie markers but they dried out so quickly and didn't give me a very good color selection. Now with these markers I have a great color selection and they last a long time. I'm hard on markers but these hold up to the abuse.
