Welcome to dickblick
Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils are the most popular colored pencils we sell. Each colored pencil features a thick, soft core made from brilliant, light-resistant pigments, to ensure smooth, rich laydown and color saturation.
The colors are easily blended, slow to wear, break-resistant, and waterproof. Each 3.8 mm core is enclosed in a round cedar casing that is lacquered to match the core.
Note — Manual sharpening is recommended for these pencils. Clogging can be prevented in electric sharpeners by periodically sharpening a graphite pencil to keep the blades clean.
Color Chart Note — Use this color chart as an approximation of the real color. If exact color matching is necessary, use actual samples of the materials.

A beautiful range of colors
Love these pencils! They have a very soft lead and are very fun to color with. Going from normal student grade pencils to these is a huge leap and they aren't too expensive if you buy 1-2 at a time. The one thing I have against them is that the point dulls really quickly and I constantly have to sharpen them. I do find it worth it though for the way it lays on paper.
I would absolutely buy products from Dick Blick!
from Holmen, WI
I'm a coloring book for adults fan. The Prisma colors I buy from Dick Blick are soft colors, with a few bright ones thrown in for excitement! I love the way the colors go on.You can either make them pale or a little more pressure gives you a deep natural color. And the colors are so beautiful! You can go from pastels to bright vibrant pencils so that your pictures could be "gallery ready". I don't think my pages would be as beautiful if I used any other brand. The price is a great value, too! The staff are friendly and very helpful as well.
Great Service from Dick Blick
from Saint Louis, MO
I use lots of Prismacolor Indigo Blue pencils for my preliminary sketching. I'm a children's book illustrator who works digitally, but does all preliminary drawing traditionally. I usually buy these pencils at discounted hobby chains, but went online for the first time to get a larger quantity. I was amazed by Dick Blick's fantastic price and even more impressed by their fast delivery and extraordinary and careful packaging. I'll be a returning customer!
Great coloring pencil

These Prismacolor pencils are great. Order the blick manual sharpener, the lead is made of wax and it is easy to cut too much.

Prisma Color Pencils
from Raymore, MO
Love them Easy to sharpen to a point. Easy to color in my Adult coloring books. My husband who is retired thought it looked like fun, so I ordered him a new set of his own.
Great pencils for card makers
I use the Prismacolor pencils to color my stamped images for handmade cards. I use Memento ink which does not smear. I have used Gamsol as well as the blender pencils to blend the pencils. Both work well, but I prefer the Gamsol (Gamsol is a GREAT deal here at Dick Blick vs Michaels). The pencils are much more economical for the card classes I teach than the Copics which I use too.
