Comments about Prismacolor Col-Erase Pencils:
These pencils are great for sketching. The price is great too, I just have to pay shipping, because there isn't a location near where I live.

I've heard many amazing things about this product so i finally decided to get my hands on it. Although the closest Blicks to me isn't as close as i wish it would be, i feel it would have been a better choice to drive there to get it rather than shipping this to my home. The product itself if wonderful. It's easy to use and really convenient in sketches.
Unusable rock masquerades as pencil
By Cody, Illustration Student
I bought the Non-photo blue pencil in this line. What I received appears to be a hard blue rock encased in wood. It does not want to give off pigment unless you really push hard - as in hard enough to gouge the paper! If I go just light enough to not gouge the paper I cannot see any blue lines at all. On top of this, if I try to ink over the lines it acts as a resist. Ink skips right over its waxy surface. For me, this was completely unusable.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Great to sketch in line drawing
I wanted a colored pencil to lightly sketch my line drawing in preparation for colored pencil painting. It erases easily and allows me to map out my sketch and color. It is not the quality of pencil of artist grade pencils. However, It is exactly what I expected and fits my purpose exactly.
I would buy this product again and again
great product and great value
Awesome colored pencils for sketching
When I looked up erasable colored pencils on Google this product was the most popular and probably the only product that came up. Knowing the brand Prismacolor I wasn't surprised, I've used their colored pencils many times even along with their markers. These Col-Erase colored pencils are fantastic, they erase quite well and make sketching a lot more colorful. The variety of colors these pencils come in is decent and I haven't any complaints to make I just really enjoy them.
Good product, great price
Prismacolor pencils are typically super expensive; over twice this price. They are well worth their normal value, so this is a steal

I couldn't understand the appeal of an erasable colored pencil until I got into sketching on toned paper. Using two contrasting shades is the perfect way to lay down an undersketch. Red and blue are popular in online video tutorials but I've found Terra Cotta and Violet to be the best combination on toned Tan paper. I do wish there were more colors. Bright yellow isn't terribly useful in an erasable pencil, but a french gray would be divine for toned Grey paper.
