Good bang for your buck
I ordered these pencils to add some color to my drawings. I had been using prismacolor premier colored pencils, however, they are much harder to work with due to their soft, waxy nature. They are good pencils, just not as easy to work with as these col-erase pencils. I've seen reviews about the col-erase pencils where people have had issues actually erasing the pencil effectively. I have had no such problems so far. As long as you start off lightly, you should have no issues. Probably the only downside I can see is that 24 is the maximum number of pencils. So that limits your options a little bit. But even this isn't a big deal. It just requires you to be creative in your color-blending.This was my first time ordering from Blick and it was a great experience. I will definitely be using them for my art needs in the future. It was a fantastic deal compared to the retail price, they came carefully packaged so that my pencils weren't damaged, and they arrived in good timing. I am very satisfied overall.

I have used Col-erase pencils for years in a couple of basic colors for editing, so I knew they were the best--soft lead that shows up well but can still be completely erased. This time I needed them for a coloring book, and the box of 24 did not disappoint. Great assortment of colors with the same quality I have come to expect. The eraser did fall out of one pencil, but overall I'm very satisfied with the product and think this is a great price. I would definitely buy them again--maybe two boxes next time!
Prismacolors are Awesome!
I use this product for sketching and drawing. It is one of my most favorite art supply buys ever! They make my sketchbook so much more fun to work with and they are just an overall blast! Also, they actually erase pretty darn well.

Waste of Time, Money, Product

Just buy the best colored pencils by Prismacolor Professional grade and draw lightly with the first few layers. They erase just as easily with a regular pencil eraser. These pencils are harder to layer color, harder to put on paper due to some weird substance they make them out of so they can erase. It's a gaff.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Oldies and always Goodies
By Terryl the Creature Designer

The Col-erase brand has been around for a long time as a standard animation pencil. It maintains a strong, sharp tip, but is versatile enough to provide tone and shading. In addition to animated characters and character design, these pencils are wonderful for drawing and sketching conceptual roughs for storyboards and concept art/vis-dev illustration, and going beyond the idea and compositional staging to a detailed finish, or as a precursor to color illustration in other media, either digital or traditional.Best colored pencil for linear drawing on the market, bar none.

Fantastic Sketching Pencil
from Nowhere, OH
Full Discloser: I am using these as sketching pencils, erasing is not important to me.If you are looking for coloring pencils, these are a bit hard and do not erase well (though you probably shouldn't be drawing so dark that you need one), Derwent is probably your best choice for that.As sketching pencils though, these are amazing. I can finally get darks without a sheen to them.
