The Prismacolor Colorless Blender uses a special formula to soften hard edges, and to lighten or blend colored pencils. Use it for a smooth, blended look. With the Colorless Blender, colors can be layered on top of each other without cloudy build up.
This pencil is sold unsharpened.
Note — Manual sharpening is recommended for this pencil. Clogging can be prevented in electric sharpeners by periodically sharpening a graphite pencil to keep the blades clean.

Perfect Blender for Oil Rich Pencils
from Upper Chichester, Pennsylvania
Comments about Prismacolor Blender:
Prismacolor blenders are the perfect complement to the Prismacolor pencils themselves. These pencils are of a richness and oily texture that could easily compete with oil paints in terms of full saturation. The blenders can be employed to smooth over any unwanted 'texture', which appears when the pencil tip is applied with only light pressure to achieve a lighter tone. The blender renders that texture smooth and flat. My only complaint is that there is a slight 'yellowish tinge' added to the area that is smoothed with the blender.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

A great colored pencil tool.
Colorless blenders let you achieve a painterly effect with colored pencils. They can blend edges and overlaps. They are dry & have no odor, making them easily part of a traveling art set or plein air experience. You can use the same sharpener that you use for your colored pencils.
I will keep buying this blending pencil!

I really like the Prisma blending pencil. I tried another brand but I didn't think it worked well. I will continue to buy this pencil.

A must for Color pencilists

I recommend having these blenders on hand. This blender has a hard point which allows you to blend with less pressure. This blender tends to not add any dulling color to the art piece. Some blenders "dull" colors as you blend them. I use this blender for when I I want a complete blending of my pencil layers.

Consistently a great helper with blending for my beginner students. I have occasionally had one or two that do not blend as easily as others but overall wonderful to use.

I never know that I could get the special effects I wanted until I received this pencil. I am very happily shading away. Obviously I'm new to coloring!
I was surprised how well it works with oil based colored pencils. I was expecting it to be waxy, but it is actually a bit abrasive and does a better job moving color around than the Lyra blender for oil based colored pencils. The CaranD'ache one seems to be better than both the Lyra and the prismacolor. The core is not centered in the pencil body, but it hasn't broken with sharpening.
A must have for blending those yummy pencils.
