Princeton’s new series of synthetic hair brushes features an extra degree of stiffness to move and control color. Unlike natural bristles, which become soft and distorted when used in a water based medium, the bristles on these brushes retain their shape and stiffness.
Each brush features two shades of hair, seamless gold colored ferrules, and a Velvetouch handle for excellent grip and control. They can be used with heavier acrylic paints as well as oil and water based oil colors.
This variation on the shape of the Bright Brush is often handy for painting the upper reaches of large canvases.
This unusual "sword" shape is excellent for precise control of fine lines and curves of varying widths.
Brush sizes — The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size may vary by manufacturer as brush sizes are not standardized. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from within a single brush line.
Long and Short Handles — Long handles are recommended for easel style painting, while short handles are recommended for table-top painting where the artwork lies flat, especially with water media.

Comments about Princeton Long Handle Umbria Bright Series 6200B:
I bought the Long 10 bright. Wonderful brush. Not quite as stiff as the 6300 Dakota. Holds a sharp edge. I like it a lot.

After trying a few, ordered one in almost every size.
from Murrells Inlet, SC
Not too stiff or soft. Good for detail but can also scrub in a little with them. Perfect for acrylic and water mixable oils. Lots of nice size options for a complete sets. Love the dagger for old oak tree branches and am sure I will find many other uses for them.
Nice Brush for Small Jobs
Comments about Princeton Umbria Dagger Striper for Acrylics:
This small brush is great for getting into hard corners and areas without being sloppy. The angle of the brish makes it easy to apply paint or glaze on any surface. The bristles are soft and easy to clean. The brish is made from solid material and wont come loose from the handle.

Superb Tool for the Precise Painter
By PA Painter
from North East PA
Being a very methodical painter I like to find and use the right brush for each application stage of the painting. It's very important to use a quality tool. These Umbrias fit perfectly in the middle lineup up of my brushes. I use Princeton's synthetic bristles for getting the paint in the right spot on the panel and these Umbrias to smooth out the application; adjusting gradations and surface textures. They're not quite as firm as a synthetic bristle so they won't push paint around as much but smooth it out rather. My final stage is to use Princeton's synthetic sables and Neptunes to finalize gradations and removing from the surface any brush marks. Princeton offers the Painter the perfect tools!

Perfect for gouache!
from Fort Collins, CO
Comments about Princeton Umbria Round:
After going through my 40 year stash of brushes I was SURE I'd have the perfect ones for gouache, a medium that is new to me. Nope. None of them worked as I wanted or hoped. Until...these! I bought a couple at my local art store to just see and immediately knew I found THE brush. So, I ordered ever size and shape in the short handles that were offered. Love them.
These brushes last through a lot of acrylic paint and medium use... And are the best in the synthetic class
