Princeton’s new series of synthetic hair brushes features an extra degree of stiffness to move and control color. Unlike natural bristles, which become soft and distorted when used in a water based medium, the bristles on these brushes retain their shape and stiffness.
Each brush features two shades of hair, seamless gold colored ferrules, and a Velvetouch handle for excellent grip and control. They can be used with heavier acrylic paints as well as oil and water based oil colors.
This variation on the shape of the Bright Brush is often handy for painting the upper reaches of large canvases.
This unusual "sword" shape is excellent for precise control of fine lines and curves of varying widths.
Long and Short Handles — Long handles are recommended for easel style painting, while short handles are recommended for table-top painting where the artwork lies flat, especially with water media.

Perfect for gouache!

Comments about Princeton Umbria Round:
After going through my 40 year stash of brushes I was SURE I'd have the perfect ones for gouache, a medium that is new to me. Nope. None of them worked as I wanted or hoped. Until...these! I bought a couple at my local art store to just see and immediately knew I found THE brush. So, I ordered ever size and shape in the short handles that were offered. Love them.
Comments about Princeton Long Handle Umbria Bright Series 6200B:
These brushes last through a lot of acrylic paint and medium use... And are the best in the synthetic class
My favorite brush!
I have a round 4 (short handle) that I use for gouache. After a year or so of abuse this brush has held up well. There isn't a sharp point (although I don't remember how sharp it was when I bought it) but it's my favorite go to general brush. It's stiff enough to rework gouache, holds a good amount of color, and still has a lot of snap. The handle is also very comfortable and soft and so lightweight I've dropped it a few times while painting! I will be ordering more soon.
Love these for my oil and acrylic.

Comments about Princeton Umbria Liner for Acrylics:
Perfect size and quality brush!
Springy and tight, but soft and responsive
from North Coast, OR
I use the Umbria brushes with oil paint and find the edge they'll hold is top notch. They have a soft feathery trail when dragged, and I like the effects I can get with that too. Top notch synthetic.
Love these brushes!

Comments about Princeton Umbria Flat Wash:
I use these for large background areas when I'm using Acrylics. They perform perfectly for smooth blending of large areas, which can certainly be a task when using fast-drying Acrylics.
