Love These Brushes
By Cassandra V.
from Conway, AR, USA
Very nice brushes for the price. The brush handle is large and comfortable and the brushes are easy to clean. Compared to cheaper brushes, these brushes have softer hair tips and more "snap," as in they bounce back easily. The handles are short and therefore easy to transport and use. If you make sure not to get paint up to the ferrule (the metal part) they will last a long time.

Excellent brushes for beginner or intermediate watercolorists. They have excellent snap and they do not shed bristles. I use many of the brushes in this range on a daily basis alongside more expensive sable and squirrel brushes. Highly recommend for their value

It's a "Snap!" for success with Princeton Snap! Brushes
By Meri the Brush Whisperer

I have been an artist(Painter) and teacher for over 40 years, and I have to say that the Princeton Snap! Golden Taklon Brushes are one of the best deals out there.Even tho they are an inexpensive brush they perform exceedingly well for both acrylic and water soluble oil. Personally, they are comfortable to handle and give very consistent results. For students, they give them the joy of a great brush without requiring them to spend a fortune. I truly cannot say enough about them. When they do get tired and they do because I use them alot! I'm not quite as sad because I know their quality is consistent and that a new one will give me the same predictable quality!!
Perfect all around brushes.

Close to a Sable
from San Diego, CA
For a handmade brush that's within this price range, you can't go wrong with these Snap! brushes, however, it can go wrong depending on what you want to do with it. Specifically I was looking for #2 Round brushes for comic inking, and Princeton offered these in White or Gold taklon. Unlike natural bristles, india ink will inevitably seep upward into the ferrule, of course with some brush cleaner this will be nullfied. The gold #2 is smaller than the white taklon, can hold a dead-weight line but also make cursive lines easier (for me anyway, I like to have a brush that needs more pressure to vary line weight), and is able to, with practice, end a line with a point. Aside from slight brush characteristics, these brushes hold the about the same amount of ink as the white synthetics. Get this brush if you don't want to invest heavily yet in a Kolinksy-sable brush.

Great brush for the money!
from Lake Zurich, IL
I bought one of these on a whim at the Blick store - they were on sale and I was amazed at the price, since they felt really nice. Used the #12 round at watercolor class today, and very impressed by how well the brush handled. Nice flow and came back to a point every time. Usually brushes this cheap shed or are scratchy - this is more like higher end brushes, handling and performing the same as brushes I have costing 3 times the price! I will definitely be going back to get more of these.
